Anyone buy one, sat on one? Is the fabric a no slip like the neoprene they use on dirtbikes? Is it longer toward the front? When my girl is on the back she constantly slides forward and ends up in my seat with me. On my 1198 we gave up and she just shared my seat and it was fine, she's small. My jewels are getting harmed when this happens on the 1199. I'd like more info before I spend $170 because no local dealer has one to try. Any pics of one on a bike would be appreciated too.

neoprene

They have never used neoprene on dirtbike seats . I've raced moto for years . It looks like alcantra or syn suede on the comfort seat. Just going by photos.

I stand correctedGuess I don't know my materials! Whatever it is, I'm curious as to whether it has any grip. I have some dirtbikes that have aftermarket covers and they seem to grip much better than OEM.
The pics do look like a suede, but does it have grip? Is the angle flatter than stock?

Either your GF, or you is doing it wrong.

She shouldn't be sliding forward.

How hard are you riding with her on the back?

hope this helps
just noticed little gap at back i checked and yes the cilp is in properly
i think it looks pretty good ( very nice seat )

I held one... it's a kind of suede... a lot less slippery. But not sure it'd be a good idea if you want to shift around a lot in hard turns.

Will tell you soon. I just bought one

cheers

Brad, thanks, please keep me posted.Mrmaloo, thanks for the pics!
Unrazzo, I'm referring to the passenger seat, and I dont want her shifting around. I wouldn't want it for a riders seat for the reasons you say.
Rhino, really? Im 51 years old, been riding and racing all my life. I'm a coach and an advanced rider for a trackday org. She has been 170mph and turned a race qualifying time on the BACK of a bike at NJMP, so she's prettygood at it too. Look at the angle and the way the front of it angles down even more. My girl is 5ft tall and 100lbs, and under braking or over a bump her little butt slides down and into my seat. In the city this is a pain.Personally, I prefer a passenger to be flat against my back and holding on to me so that we move as one. More than likely I will make my own that is longer to the front so that it extends almost to my back, and is more level with the ground.

I see no correlation between being a fast rider or pillion on a track and riding on the streets two-up. More relaxed, looser grip, bit of a bump, and all of a sudden it's comfy in the front :)

But yes, it does have a weird drop off in the front 1/3.

Props on the Mrs having a small enough butt to fit in with you though :)

That seat looks like it would be much more comfortable than the stock one. Fortunately for me, my wife is not a fan of riding on the back. She went for one ride and that was it.

Lol, and it's a nice butt too! You are right. What she gets real props for is at 50 yrs old getting on the back of a BMW s1000 and doing a :32 around NJMP!
The more I look at it the more I think I'll reupholster mine to work

Its the same material as the Race Seat so it grips well to cotton and such. As those of you with the race seat know the top material is grippy, a sort of rubber like grip . Yes the comfort passenger seat is more comfortable than the stock seat by a good margin, and looks the part too! I just got mine today.
