Hi I'm looking for some help my bike stoped working last Sunday after I filled tank up of premium unleaded and rode 55 miles with no issues then stoped the bike as I had arrived at our meeting point and when I tried to restart bike it would not start it seemed to get back pressure in to tank as when I opened it after trying it gussed air as I opened tank there's no fuel smell coming out off exhaust so I feel that no fuel is getting to spark at the garage they sprayed fuel directly into intake and it fired up they fut tank and nothing they are trying ti say that it's contaminated fuel but the bike ran without any issues after filling her up they say they set alight a bit off fuel and it gave off black smoke I've been working on bike engines since the age off 14 and I know that if you have bad fuel
The bike won't run correctly but will still spark has anyone had issues with the bike not starting and may be able to shed some light as there saying it's bad fuel so won't be covered under warrantie if it was bad fuel they should have been able to put clean fuel in and that would have solved it but this is not happening my thoughts are with the pump but they say no fault codes coming up

If the vent in the gas tank is not working the fuel pump will pull a vacuum on the tank and when you open the cap you'll hear an in rush of air. And when the tank has a vacuum the fuel pump can't work. Usually if this is the problem it'll start after you vent the tank but quit again as the vacuum returns.

Thanks for reply they are saying it's not this as it should start when tank is open I think the pump is not correctly working and it's not outing fuel out as if you spray directly it starts but there trying to say it's contaminated fuel

Have you already deleted your charcoal canister? I would start my search there...

It's a pikes peak v4 and it's under warrantie as only done under 4000 miles and it's just over one year old but it's been in garage since Tuesday and still not sorted

If it were bad gas, it would be as simple as taking what’s in the tank out and refilling it with fresh gas. Not that it’s likely the problem though.

No but there trying to blame that and saying it's not covered the fact it had a full tank when I set off as put fresh fuel in it as it was on 0 miles before I fueld up I put a full tank and drove on motorway fir 55 miles and no issues off bike running badly so it can't be fuel issue but they recon it's got bad fuel and that caused whatever is wrong with it

There was a youtube video from Rembo about overfilling the tank which makes this happen. He suggest never to top it off. Hope that helps.
