Hi,

Has anybody outside the US ordered a Pit Bull motorcycle stand for their 1199?

I'm in the UK and would quite like one. I've emailed them a couple of times, but haven't had a response.

Does anybody know of a UK stockist?

Thanks

Al.

The only foreign dealers they list on the web page are in australia. I've got several of their stands and the trailer restraint systems as well. Best stands out there. Unfortunately, shipping costs to you would be obscene.

Just found this UK company: http://www.fwr.co.uk/racing.htm

I'm surprised they haven't responded, they're normally pretty good about that.

i had a live chat with one of their operators with regards shipping to uk worked out very expensive and ended up buying DP's front & rear

Pit Bull have responded to my email.

It will cost $150 USPS, $200 UPS to post the stand over to the UK, and there will probably be customs charges on top of that. :-(

Recon I'll give this one a miss unless somebody knows of a cheaper way to ship it over?

I bought a rear stand and a trailer restraint into Australia as the Australian importer does not bring in the trailer restraint. Cost me $700 all up for both lucky there was no customs as it was under $1000. Expensive but nice.

The Dealer's here get about $265 for Ducati Stands, Pit Bull stands are about $100 cheaper. It would have to be cheaper for you buy The ducati stand from your dealer than to have Pit Bull shipped.
$365 shipped for a Pit bull stand is insane.

The idea behind the Pit Bull stand was that it allows me to park the bike right in the back corner of the garage. The DP stand would stick out the back.

In the grand scheme of things, the DP stand costs £175 (~$280) over here anyway, so for the sake of $70, I may order it anyway.

:) I figured you had a good reason for wanting the Pit bull,

what about installing axle sliders, they can act like stand spools, use a conventional balanced stand, opens your options.

Did you check with the UK pitbull seller I sent the link to in the message above? If they don't have the specific stand perhaps they bulk order or can get it discounted.

I didn't call them, and haven't had anything back via email. I noticed there's no link to the racing page from their front page which makes me think they don't do them anymore.

Here's another option you can consider. T-Rex stands, they're a cheaper version of pitbull. I'm not a huge fan but some people think very highly of them.

If it were me tho I'd go the $$ and buy pitbull top quality and will last forever.

Buy it you will not regret it.

Buy it you will not regret it.

I have the DP stand and it is crap compared to the Pit Bull. The parts slide into each other and are not welded like the PB. I regret not being patient and waiting to get the PB. :(

I personally use 3 pitbull stand options.
1st is my standard double sided swing arm stand for which I can also use on my other non-Duc track bikes. The 1199 needs the rim / axle sliders to accommodate the stand. I'm a fan of the sliders on the 1199 anyway, god forbid I need them.
2nd is a dedicated single sided swing arm stand, which seems to have a more stable purchase on the 1199.
And 3rd, and most important for trailer transport, is the trailer restraining system. I use this mehod for all my bikes for rapid hookup, and almost foolproof & more confident that the bikes will still be upright when I get to my destination.
Thank you PitBull.

I ended up ordering a pair.

They are really nice!
