Looking for anyone that has had and possibly resolved this issue:

2020 V4R. Track only.

Twice now I’ve gotten a flashing red “PIT LIMITER ERROR” on the dash and the bike is stuck in pit limit mode. Once while riding, once on pit out.
Only add on I have that’s connected to this system is the BSD race buttons. The first time I did the ole “unplug the battery for 10 minutes” trick. Worked fine.

Update:
-plugged in both the stock buttons as well as another set of buttons I have. No luck.
-also noticed an “ERR” message next to DQS. So, I turned off DQS. After another reset I powered on the bike. Error gone! However, after starting the engine, the error returns within 15 seconds.
-thinking maybe I have a faulting quickshift sensor, I unplugged it. Still, same problem.

such a bummer
Guess it’s time to track down a code reader.

Probably your gear position sensor.

When you clear the fault, does the bike run OK until hot?

Do you have the latest gear position sensor and the plastic duct? They're recall items.

If you have a plastic duct between the fairing and the sensor, you probably have the update, otherwise not. When it fails, it throws up loads of errors. It's a fairly cheap part to swap out, and worth carrying a spare anyway. Circa £45/£50

Rad. Thanks for the tip. It’s definitely the original sensor. Read the recall bulletin. My bike hasn’t been to the dealer since that bulletin, which states they will do the recall work when it’s brought in. Time to order these parts. I hope this does it.

Well. It’s been a minute on this thread
But
Changed my gear position sensor. Changed to a Cordona quickshifter.
Same damn problem. It flashes “PIT LIMITER ERROR” at start up. There is a “ERR” next to DQS on the dash. And the bike is clearly stuck in pit limiter mode (flashes red, won’t allow revs over 4K). Even “cleared” all the codes using the brentune module.

Has anyone come across this yet? Any tips? Besides bringing to the dealer for a plug in.

16 error codes. Hilarious. Did all 16 reappear after you cleared them?

P0916 is gear sensor short to ground or open circuit and P0827 is DQS short to ground. Earlier in the thread I think you worked on those items. Are you confident they are plugged in correctly? IIRC, at least with the 2021 there's a goofy extension cable on the DQS, and I think its possible to mix them up.

P0562 is low system voltage. In the settings menu under info, does it show more than +12V when its running?

Only one.
but I can’t remember the exact code
lame, I know.
plan to plug it back in soon to see what the deal is.

and yes. Replaced the sensor and the QS.
My battery had a bit low voltage. Charged it but it didn’t change a thing.

Before I have the dealer take it, I’m going to check the codes again and see what’s what. I’ll keep ya updated.
Thanks for the help.

If you've got a good, new, spare battery (doesn't need to be lithium), I'd swap the battery over, clear the codes and try again.

Even if you don't have a batter, you could jumper cable it to a running car and check. I take it from your prior posts that the error shows up in a short time at idle.

Excellent. I’ll try that.
thanks for the tips.
The error shows as soon as I power the bike on. Doesn’t even need to be started.
Will let you know when I’m able to do it.

Ok. So.
checked error codes again after swap and clearing codes last time.
P2131
P2132

Hooked to a running car battery, reset the codes, and was left with the same error and a P2131.

here’s the kicker. I walked away from the bike, decided to check the codes again. Start up error gone, rev’d normal. All looked good.
....... electronics.
