i am of the live and let live and mind your business school of thought, but this member mark419ny is literally the scourge and poisons the spirit of this otherwise entertaining and informative forum.

several members have already quit this place as a direct consequence of the juvenile and sociopathic posting proclivities of mark419ny; these were members that contributed real value here, with unique builds and deep knowledge of these bikes. why do we allow a nasty, mean-spirited and mentally ill person to troll this forum?

i never want anyone to be banned for expressing their 1A rights, but this incessant crazed assault on upstanding forum members constitutes abuse and adds nothing here but vitriol and bad vibes.

let's vote, starting with yours truly:


mods please consider the ban of mark419ny effective asap.

Similar to you and your ridiculous political views and comments on a motorcycle forum. No one cares to read any of that nonsense whether it's posted in the lounge or not. You're probably the last one to talk. While you may have toned it down quite a bit, you've had a reputation as well. You mentioned 1A so if it applies to you, the same goes for everyone else on this very lenient forum. To put it simply, either ignore what he has to say or ignore him completely. Creating a thread with a poll in mind to ban someone is a bit much.

& i never went through anything but a self imposed cooling off period. which is tempting once again, given that fighting windmills is a net losing proposition.

P.S. You can try to spin the cooling off period as much as you just tried to spin the lounge postings. I had a conversation about you with the mods. It was more than just "hinted" to you to go away and cool off for six months. You can phrase it as self imposed if that makes it easier for you.

I know I've pissed you off plenty times as well, but thank you for being the voice of reason.
 
Maybe a reinforcement of forum etiquette regarding personal interaction , consideration of the original post query or information is required.
I haven't been in the forum for long but have noticed the tendency of certain 'opinionated ' members to hijack what started as interesting or useful threads and turn them into useless slanging matches that end up intentionally or otherwise, ruining what could have been a useful thread.

Non response to such posts may be best way of 'policing' the forum ???

i received several DMs/emails from members complaining about Marktard, then earlier today someone got very upset about his trolling here in a thread. maybe this post inspires him to lay off, but i doubt it.
