Popping out of gear on hard acceleration

Recently I've had an issue under hard acceleration where my 1199 will not upshift properly with the DQS. It's an intermittent issue but a frustrating one none the less. It is almost as though it goes into gear and then pops back out into the lower gear that I just came from. It is quite the jolt on the rider when it does this.

Are there any adjustments that can/need to be made in order to prevent and/or stop this issue? Has anyone had an issue like this before?

It's the quickshifter mechanism that does that. It doesn't actually change gear, you are only pressing the lever just enough to press the micro switch, but not enough to change gear. The result is that you get the ignition cut event even though you're still in the same gear... One possible solution is the tuneboy strain gauge quick shifter..

Could one assume that its from lazy shifting? Not enough force applied by myself? This is my 3rd duc with DQS and I've always shifted the same with the same force applied to the lever and never had this issue before.

Are there any adjustments that can be made to the lever or the DQS?

The way you described it is exactly how it feels. That quick ignition cutout and the the high revs of the gear before creates a huge jolt in the bike. Its annoying and seems very unsafe.

I have same problem, did you change your rear sets aftermarket , could that be the reason, or on the up shift not enough trotle input

The fix is easy. Make sure that your toe breaks contact completely with the gear lever between shifts. If you maintain pressure beyond a certain point on the shift lever it will hit a false neutral when you shift.

could be a bent shift fork.

I thought DQS was new to the 1299-

Is this an add-on accessory that ducati offered in the past ?

I've tried this as well as the exact opposite of keeping pressure on it and neither seems to make any difference. It is so sporadic that it's hard to pin point when exactly it is going to do it.

my 899 and both 1199's have all had the DQS

Yeah I guess the DQS was upshift only now its up/down
you could have the shift linkage looked at to see if it needs adjusted

It's not about pressure, but more about completing the motion. If you release the pressure at the moment of ignition cut, you still haven't turned the actual selector shaft and drum. No cost solution is to make sure you press the lever until it stops, fool proof solution is an aftermarket strain gauge quickshifter with adjustable pressure points an set it to 12-15 kg. If the pressure on the pedal is 12-15 kg at ignition cut you should be damn sure the shift motion will be done...
