So I'm taking my R to the track this month but have a little situation.

I have the full Akrapovic system installed and have the baffles available. However, Akrapovic state this exhaust, baffled, puts out about 105db. The track I'm headed to has a limit of 102bd. So I've got a couple of options:

1) I will be taking some wadding with me to pack behind the baffles to help quiet it down a little, however, this can sometimes be short lived an eject itself onto the track which is bad for everyone, and quite frankly isn't something I want to do.

I do have a little time on my hands as I won't be heading there until the end of the month so.........

2) I've got hold of a piece of titanium sheet which I'm going to manufacture a couple of 'washers' if you like, one for each baffle and decrease the diameter of the exhaust outlet by welding/tacking them in place to the removable baffles, almost like restrictors.

To be able to go ahead with option two I don't want to cause the bike any harm or grief that it's not already designed to take with back pressure etc. Can someone give me an exact measurement of the Termignoni full system baffled outlet please (Ha ha, also in metric, sorry guys!!)? At least a ball park figure to get started.

I'm then going to go slightly under that size and see how it tests and affects the bike. I will also take the means to increase the outlet size in increments, of maybe 2.5mm - 5mm diametrically, to see how big I can get it for that tracks particular noise limit. I'll take notes for each of the lesser sizes of outlet against their noise outputs also (for example 28mm = 98db etc.).

Hopefully, I want end up with a couple sets of baffles with pre-determined noise levels for different tracks/locations and their limits to be able to just pop in depending where I'm headed to.

If they check the noise lever at tech make sure they read the noise low closed to the ground, if they read the noise lever at the track just don't blasted by the sensor. I have the full termi without the db killer and I when to jenning in fl, they have regulation but I never got a problem

I'd just check to see on the local forums if anyone who's tracked a Panigale has been flagged. Decibel readings can be misleading, as it all depends on where the db readings are taken, what angle they're taken at and what the weather conditions were. The stock exhaust is 107db, so there's no way the Akra with baffles is lower than that. The best you can do is baffle it as best you can and hope you don't see the meatball flag. If you do, then lift by the sound station every lap....

I have been looking but nothing yet.

It is something I want to do with the custom baffles though as there some other tracks I'd like to terrorise..... I mean go to have a 96db limit!

I do know what you're saying though. Same track with an S, stock exhaust.... The guy tested it, shook his head but waved me on anyway. They know these things are loud and don't static test the same as conventional pipes, so he basically said do the fly by, and if we have to pull you we will, but they never did. I guess this will be the same.

Want to be prepared though, just in case. I'd hate to waste the day for being too loud, and you can't deny that Akra system does wail, even with baffles!!!
