Any one have any experience with using a power commander V with a 2017 1299?
Their website states that the one that they sell only works with a 2015, but i thought all 2015-2017's are the same.

thanks
Daniel

Rapidbike.....

Ya I have considered the RB and will prob end up buying one , but there is a used PC on here that sounded like a good deal. But I spoke with a representative from power commander this morning who states they do not make one for a 2017. (Even though RB and tuneboy fits 2015-2017)
it's a race bike and the only turners down here (Texas) only work with pc or bazazz which is all I have experience with as well on my old race bikes.
Just wanted to see if anyone had one on there 16-17.

Thanks

Try a rapid bike module, i have ad about 3 PC3 and 5 in the past and the Rapid bike Evo is a much more advanced piece of equipment.
just having the Auto tune feature is a huge plus as you dont have to keep going back to the tuner for adjustments etc.
i have the 1299, and it makes a great difference with stock maps, before adjustment is made..

Our mapping does the fueling on that bike as well with big improvements over the factory setup. All the ridability quirks and issues are fixed, something a PC5 does not really touch on.

Give me a call with any questions or check our website.

I have a Rapid Bike for sale in the classified now.

I have a PC V which was originally installed on my 2013 1199s, now installed on my 2016 Anniversario. Definitely a massive improvement felt, although I also had the ecu flashed, as the PC V does not do the closed loop section. I have a full system AR pipe.

How long does it take to install RB?

I have the rapid bike on my 1299 and the installation sucks. The instructions say you need to mount the unit on the left side of the bike and then snake the entire harness with wires and plugs to the right side behind the radiator and oil cooler. And then plug everything on the right side of the bike. It seems easy in the instructions but its not that easy to snake that entire harness behind the radiator and oil cooler to get to the harness to the right side of the bike. The wires on the harness are slim and can easily fit but the plugs are adapters are big and clunky which are the issue. Once you get the entire harness through the rest is simple. Its plug and play. You remove a plug. Plug a rapid bike into its place. Then plug the OEM plug into another rapid bike plug. You are essentially creating a loop. Meaning if OEM A+B are plugged together. You unplug A from B. Plug a RB plug into A then plug B into another RB plug creating that loop. And thats how you do it for every OEM plug you plug a RB plug into. If Im not mistaken there are 12 or 14 plugs for the 1299. Even more for my S1000RR and S1000R. Just the 8 injectors alone use 16 plugs. On the BMWs each injector has its own loop. Meaning if injector 1 has A plugged into B. Then a RB plug gets plugged into A and B gets plugged into another RB plug. So 8 injectors have 16 plugs now. It sounds confusing but the instructions for every bike are perfectly explained and each step has the picture of where the RB gets plugged into. The hardest part is after mounting the RB, then snaking the harness through to the right side.
