Programming a dash

Has anyone taking a dash cluster from another bike (1299) and got the dealer to program it to theirs? I have found that the dash and the Bbs are a mated pair. Bought a dash off of Ebay that I was hoping would work, but the ODO shows - - - - - -
I called the dealer and they said they aren't sure if they can do it or not.
Has anyone experienced this or knows the answer?
 
Update:
Local bike shoppe that specializes in euro bikes was able to program the dash to the rest of the canbus system. I think they were using rexxer tool.
 
I don’t speak Italian. What’s that mean? It works with the new ignition now or what
