Sorry, Ducati have lost me on this one. I understand the limited edition stuff but it has always been on race ready categories. 851, 888, etc. Even the 1199 SL. 1299 SL? Nah!, rich boy toys. Not for me.

It's not on our R either with the reason being the LED units weigh more...i don't know, i would've still wanted it to come with LEDs

The weight difference being the reason is ......... It's not like LED weighs 20 pounds and non LED weighs 3 pounds. I'd understand if that was the case. The difference is like 2-3 pounds tops. If Ducati was so concerned about weight (especially on the R) they could have shed weight elsewhere to make up for the difference in the LED headlight. On the SL, I'd be a bit more understanding since the point is to have the lightest bike out there but even still, there's weight to be shed elsewhere before the headlights.

I know, it sounds like ........, but it's true.

From Ducati's website on the R: http://panigale.ducati.com/r/en/technology/

Designed for weight reduction:
-3.5kg
A full 2 kg reduction in weight thanks to the lithium-ion battery. 0.5 kg less due to classic headlamp and LED position lights. Another kilogram less with the 9.1 MP Bosch ECU for cornering ABS.

$2500 for ....... assembly?

I would ask what requires $2000 more in assembly/labor costs over the 1299s.

...actually no I wouldn't. For $90k it better be included.

No lights weigh even less :D I love Ducati and what they have done with this bike is unreal. There are a few aesthetic things I am not a fan of but overall its amazing . But......I am more excited to see what happens with the BMW HP4 "Race" . It looks like in the pics that its a full on real deal track weapon(not road legal). The SL will hang in terms of performance but lets be real its just gonna be a $80K show bike that some rich .... will ride around LA for scene points . If the BMW is cheaper and more units made you will see them actually on the track where they belong.

I am not hating on Ducati...I love ..love Ducati! I actually just got back from Italy (got married there) and went on the factory tour. And I think its cool for Ducati to build something "just because they can" but seeing a bike with this much performance just sit there or ridden around town is kinda dumb to me . Point is if your building to this performance level why not go full on and ditch pointless road going stuff like lights all together ? Make it like like the Suter or the BMW?

100k... SL or C63 amg S.... hmmm...

This is quite timely... I visited the local MB dealer in Dallas regarding a new C63 AMG coupe a short while ago and yesterday the salesman called to say that a white one was on the way to North Texas in about a month and there was one still at the factory that could still be configured on the way in another 3 months.

sorry but when you said "good bike" are you referring to quality ? or just a good bike because it a cool bike?
quality and Ducati don't go together, fancy parts and Ducati maybe
look at those poor bastard that own the R panigale burning oil like a ....... oil boiler and ducati has the ball to send it a gift card to buy more oil lol.or just check how many of them have problem with the engine when they try to track it Panigale R for racing lol give me a ....... break. fancy and exotic parts yes quality NO MI HERMANO.

One question : what is your problem ?

In your profile description, i can read: "I Ride: Ducati 1199" ...

Does it mean you're a "poor bastard" (using your words) because you own a bike made of "fancy parts" with a serious "lack of quality" ? lol.

If i refer to all the stuff you post here on the forum, and if you still own a Ducati, you definitely are a big idi*t for not following your own advice.
