I would imagine many of you will have received an email from Ducati earlier today, with the obligatory teaser shot of the new Project V20C. I'm guessing a Lambo/Ducati Streetfighter styling mash-up/combo that pays some sort of homage to the new STO car they have produced. The image shown appears to be the lower oil cooler shroud on the Streetfighter V4. Anyone else care to guess what the new Project is, that literally no-one is waiting with baited breath for?

This collaboration was posted a year ago with photos of various Lambo/Ducati motifs. Got to give it to the brand. They know how to go after the wallet. Look at the price tag on Lambo/Diavel. They through styling, branding, repurposing of previously released (exclusive) parts and their seemingly unlimited “limited” editions, have figured out how to substantially increase the cost of a base product without actually putting much into the effort. Smart business.

They are as you put it, masters at "parts bin specials". I don't see this as any different to previous incarnations, the Bayliss V2 being a prime example.

And the Bayliss V2 was I believe the 2nd Bayliss from them “hey I got an exclusive Bayliss from Ducati”. They have the “boutique” advantages and with that comes the psychology that comes with their clients, “I’ll take one in every color”. With the inclusion of Lambo in the brand line, it’s even better. I’ve always been somewhat “anti brand” from a personal presentation perspective, your not paying me in some fashion to fly brand colors, I’ll leave it plain. Contrast to that you now have Ducatis plastered with Lamborghini decals everywhere. I’m sure it makes the flag waving Ducatista even more giddy.

What’s wrong with parts bin specials? From a financial perspective, these bikes crush margins and are super profitable

We are in agreement, as I stated, smart business. I don’t buy bikes, I buy parts to make bikes so I could care less. Limited edition bikes are great as are tribute bikes for the collectors but they do fudge a little on the details to squeeze ever last lust dollar out of it. Again great business but they do for sure take advantage of the blissful ignorance of the buyer from a value perspective. Personally I think it’s a little goofy to have Lamborghini stickers on a motorcycle.

The original Bayliss 998, bayliss999, bayliss 1098r. At least had a connection to the great man… but Tat like the v2 bayliss or the foggy v4 .. have no connection whatsoever other than spinning the coffers!

If you increase the brightness on that picture you can see clearly it's the lower right fairing of a Streetfighter V4, although the shape is slightly different from the current production one, which leaves fro two options: either there will be a facelift for the "regular" SFV4 or this has some bespoke bodywork to match the Lamborghini.
There is also what it appears to be a second exhaust valve cable, but that might be just a shadow.

Anyone else has some solid info on this or we'll be left scratching our heads till the 2nd of Semptember?

A few very lucky Ducatisti got to see the bike at WDW2022. Understandably, no cellphones/cameras permitted in the room. I got the royal treatment by Ducati that week so I'm not going to disrespect them by saying anything I'm not supposed to say, but if you are a fan of Ducati and the Huracan STO let's just say you're going to love what they unveil in the next few weeks.

Trying to create some sort of buzz around a bike or car or even tech by showing sneak peeks or releasing very limited info about is just plain dumb. Show the damn bike, car or tech n be done with it. It's not gonna make a potential buyer be more or less interested in buying your mass produced item. If you have a great product to release, it will generate its own buzz after people see it and know more about it. I've never been one for feeding into this unveiling BS. I don't get all this secrecy n probably never will.

I've never been privy to special models before their actual unveiling in the past, but I've usually been given access to press launches at the big international motor shows. And with more virtual launches to a wider audience, the teasers seem to be something that more manufacturers are doing.

I'm not certain, but it seemed like they showed it to Ducatista who are most passionate and likely to buy one. That said, I don't think they are going to have a problem selling it -- speculation is that it will sell out faster than the Diavel first collaboration. Demand will be greater than availability for sure.

If you want Lamborghini, ....... buy one. If you want a Ducati with a Lamborghini sticker on it, book some couch time cause that’s ....... goofy. I don’t even have a Ducati sticker on my Ducati. Guys and their “please notice me”labels, like a chick with a Gucci bag.

I imagine it’s a much smaller demand over here and I paid a deposit for the next special, whatever it was going to be about 6 months ago, so maybe I got lucky…
