I think you did get lucky. The Diavel sold out quickly, this one will likely sell out a lot faster.
 
Not sure what the fuss is about. The V20C is basically a Streetfighter V4 with a Lambo mash up paintjob and a few trinkets thrown in to justify the elevated price point. It's all Ducati can do by releasing lame teaser photos to try to increase it's desireability and perceived exclusivity.
 
Magic, I was hoping it was going to be a v4 street fighter, can’t blinking wait , roll on 2023 :)

I don't really see the fuss you mention. It's not going to be for everyone, but the kids are going to love it, and personally, I love the aesthetic. As far as the "trinkets' you mention, a little mental mathturbation tells me it would cost more to take a standard bike and build a duplicate purchasing aftermarket parts. Hype or not, I'm sure it will sell out and hopefully not to those who are simply trying to flip it for a fast buck. That people were asking $100K (and sometimes getting it) for a $31k Lambo Diavel blows me away. I don't think Ducati has to do much to increase desirability and exclusivity. I hope most of the STO's end up on the road by people who enjoy riding them, even if it's as a pretentious flex.
 
Ducati is pretty awesome, they are making a special edition to match my car as well. Can’t wait to see it.

It may be goofy, but damn... I think it's beautiful. If it didn't have the stupid Lambo decals and pecco's number, it would be perfect.

They gave a few us a sneak preview at World Ducati Week, and the visual impact is even greater in person. The XXX model wore SL/SP/SP2 BST RapidTek's, so they must have changed them in the interim, or maybe it's a option in the configurator. It's priced higher than anticipated at $68K for the US. BTW, the 63 is a nod to Lamborghini's founding year, not Bagnaia.
