I bought a Termi slip-on kit used. The slips look in great condition and supposedly had less than 5K miles on them. It came with the Ducati box containing the Up-Map "stick".

I gave these parts to my dealer and asked them to install them before I picked up the new bike. He called me a day later to say that the Up-Map "stick" didn't contain the Up-Map because when it is connected to the 1199 it transfers it to that bike and that bike only. He further explained that for it to work on my new bike and access the Termi slip-on map, the seller should have re-connected the Up-Map "stick" to his bike and downloaded the unlock code back into the "stick".

Is this correct? I was told to go ahead and buy the Ducati/Termi slip-on "stick" on eBay or wherever I could get one as they couldn't help me further.

Please enlighten me.

Thanks

Your dealer is correct. The previous owner should have reconnected the upmap key to return his bike back to stock before selling it to you. Short of contacting the previous owner, not sure what your options are?
Just to clarify, your ecu already has the termi upmap on it. The key is used to unlock or lock it. A single key can only be used to unlock one bike at a time.

Make sure you buy one that hasn't been used to unlock the bike (reputable seller ). Otherwise you end up with the same problem.

Thanks, I bought it last night from Motoprimo, which apparently is a Duc and multi-line dealer in MN. They have 1635 feedback at 100%. Being that it's eBay, I'm also covered with buyer protection.

I'm eventually going to get the Termi headers and go with a Bazzaz Z-Fi and custom dyno tune, but this is the next best near-term option.
