Guys,

Last track day, I was experiencing issue with my 1199 quick shifter, I was unable to shift from 3 gears to 4 gears during high RPM right at where the red indicator light started to led. I had to try 2-3 times before it engaged to 4 gears from 3gears.
To troubleshoot the issue I also turn off the quick shift function so I can use the clutch manually to shift from 3-4 gear during hard acceleration, unfortunately it just can’t simply engaged without several tried. Anyone experience such issue with your bike? I would appreciated if someone had the same experience could share the way in resolving this problem.

This issue happen after the DP rearset (without reverse shifter) installed, everything was fine when using the stock rearset but I doubt it had anything to do with the rearset.

FYI, During normal riding and low RPM all gears shifted normally!

Thanks..

Sounds like you have a tight selector there, with it being reluctant to change gear with a heavy load on it. is your chain adjustment ok? If it is,sounds like a gearbox stripdown. Probably something trivial like a burr or a sharp edge on something that needs a file taken to it. See if you can find a Ducati guru who may help or any decent race mechanic. Gearboxes pretty much all work the same way in bikes so even a guy who dont work on Ducs should have some useable info.

Thanks Supduc10 for your input. :) Yes the chain is been adjust accordingly when trying to resolve this shifting problem.

Was the engine "stuttering" against the rev limiter when you were trying to shift? That might affect the quick-shifter.

I used reverse pattern with the DP rearset.

Try check the movement of the shift pedal and link.

One sure way to rule out the rearsets is to put on the stock setup and give it another go. Take out the change as the possible cause before digging into someething else!

Your welcome brother. Have a think about this,if its not mechanical then it must be you. How are you positioned when riding normally and changing gears fine. When "you" are in race mode on track and your really getting a move on,do you shift your body position suddenly just as your about to change up from 3rd to 4th,dont forget that things are happening crazy fast in those gears at high revs. Did you set the gearshifter lever height to exactly the same position as you had it with standard rear sets? Look at the obvious first. Let us know if you find a solution.;)

Hey Supduc10, Yep thats was the first thing we did during the troubleshooting. I had someone hold the bike upright at the pit ,tried shifting and played with some adjustment until it is fully comfortable for my position. The shifting happen from 3-4 was at both longest straight line at Sepang, I seating position shouldnt be moving much. Bike is at dealership now hope this been resolve for the Jan track day. I will update later as soon as I hear any news from the dealer.

Roger that.

I haven't had any problems shifting between gears, but I have had the bike stutter just after using the quick shifter around 5,000 on the road. The bike feels like it cuts out for a split second, before re-engaging. This doesn't happen all the time, and I've been told my throttle position could be changing slightly when I hit the gear I want. Usually second or third. Any thoughts on this one, as my soft hairy ones down below don't appreciate this sudden change in behavior.
