changed to P at the 621 miles service
was about to play around witht he c/r but decide to see what race mode will do - it is nice.
lots more power in all range, felt more responsive
:)

Good to know! Planning on changing mine to P next weekend at the first service. Ive only rode in sport so far and was curious about the RACE mode compared to sport.

I took my sport mode and turned the quickshifter off and power to 195hi. QS on and ABS level 2 on Race mode. I like the direct throttle response but don't use the QS around town. Get out of town and switch to race.

I dont even have my Pani yet, but have taken out both an S and a base on long demo rides on the roads I usually ride on. I have ridden with all three modes extensively, and I only like race mode. Wet mode is pretty boring, they say the bike has 120 HP in wet mode but I can say that my 2009 ZX-6R Kawi (that doesn't even have 120 HP) is far faster and much more responsive than the Pani in wet mode. I guess for the rain it would be good though. Sport mode had a lag in throttle response that I didn't like. Unless it rains I think I will be riding around in race mode pretty much all the time.

I too don't like the 195-lo or 120 throttle response. It’s hard to hold a constant throttle, the bike sometimes surges when you roll-on out of a corner and the fuelling is lumpy in these modes at lower rpm. Some say the Termi and up-maps fix this, but I don’t have the Termi’s. I’d go as far as saying that even though 195-hi is quite aggressive, it’s probably the best option for all three modes, once you’ve recalibrated your brain and right hand that is. Please don't go out in the wet in 195-HI on my recommendation until you're familiar with the direct throttle response.

Very, very curious why folks wait until first service or over 1k miles to use EVERYTHING about this bike. I didnt have 50 miles on it yet and I went thru every riding mode, banging quickshifts, and played around with mode setting. not that I want to sound like I know it all, but all these features were put on this high end bike for a special purpose, to USE THEM EXTENSIVELY!

Will do this weekend! Its official! Im going to Barber. Will post pics.

Are you all in the actual "Race" mode? With the track timer in the view? Or just switching to 195hi? I'd be annoyed with the timer in my view all the time.

I've always wondered at the 120 mode. That seems awfully low, even for wet. As someone else said, that's less than a 600. We have to assume that the 120 is 120 at the crank, so we're lucky to get 105 at the rear wheel. Limiting the bike that much seems like over(under?)kill. Doubt I'll ever use it at all. If I remember correctly the BMW is limited to 150ish in wet mode. That seems a little more reasonable, and usable.

While your driving in sport and change it into race the regular speeding and tach stay in dash. Id hate seeing lap timer entire time too. Just swap into race while driving. It will say close throttle and let off brakes. So just let off gas for a sec and it will stay in race man.

I hear ya Gunny! I just wanted to get familiar and a feel a lil comfy before stepping up to Race mode. Time to make the switch to RACE!

Oh no, I was asking if folks are using the RACE mode? I changed my SPORT mode to 195hi. Keeps the timer out of my view. So in reality I have no 195lo... I wouldn't mind having 195lo, except that it has a hesitation on the first 100 feet of acceleration. So taking off from a stop I look like a noob.

Was going through some old posts so forgive me if you have this figured out, but in race mode all you have to do is go in and switch the display from track (which is the default in race mode) to road and the timer goes away....

When I left the dealership it was on wet mode, rode about 2 km that way and it was pathetic! Put it on sport for another 10 km, much better but still too tame. Race mode ever since......f*"$ing awsome....feels like riding a fire breathing dragon:D

BTW, if you push the button above the turn indicator, the lap timer disappears

well i rode it in race mode most time in the beginning, now adjusted the sport mode, due to the display back and forth with the lap timer...

195Hi, TC on 4, everything else remains....
btw:
tested wet yesterday in the rain, it is a little bit low power wise, but besides that, very smooth and linear delivery, amazing. took off the lights, orange TC light went nuts, but i shot straight. very trust building. also when braking, on my way home, there is an exit, where i always brake down from around 50 to 10, with a nice slide / rear wheel drift. the ABS in the wet mode totally catches it!

if they only find a map for the flat spot between 3.5 and 5 k, the 195 hi is perfect for everything else...

You can switch of the lap timer in the settings which makes the dash the same as sport mode.

I have both sport and race mode set up identical except for suspension settings so I can switch back and forth. The actual name of the modes doesnt mean anything. You can set wet mode up with the same settings as race...
