It's not alcantara but a weird type of Neoprene.
I bought a big roll of grippy Neoprene from a local supplier which was already glue backed so I just had to cut it to size and stick / staple it on.
It works a treat and I've got enough material left over to redo the seat a few times so when it does get tatty I'll just recover it.

Will it fade in the sun?
I've been hunting for the right material to retrim my stock seat for a few weeks now.
I've even taken both the stock and racing seat to 5 auto trimmers and no one has a clue what material it is???
So if there is something similar please let me know.

Did you have any luck or does anyone know what the material is for the DP Race Seat?
I'm planning on re-trimming both the stock seat and pillion passenger seat.
