I picked up the Race Seats tank extender from Houston SBK:

RaceSeats Ducati 1199 899 Panigale Racing Seat / Tank Extension

There is one side of double sided velcro on the inside of the tank extender, and It does not come with hardware. I have a few questions for those that have this product.

1) How did you secure the tank extender to the seat, what type/size of hardware did you use?

2) How did you secure the tank extender to the fuel tank? Did you get some double sided velcro and attach it to the tank?

Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!

What's up big? As to your questions, if I remember correctly, the carbon extension slides under the seat. The seat is attached using the same screen the original seat uses at the base of the fuel tank. I think there are two screws, one on Rache side once the extension is in place so it doesn't move. We also put some painters tape down so the tank doesn't get scratched. The bike stays are RapidBike HQ, so I can't take a pic. If I go to bike night tonight, I'll take pics

So no velcro on the tank to stop the extension from moving around, it just lays there and sits in place with two screws holding it on from the base?

If you can take a pic of the screws that would be awesome, don't want to make the hole bigger using the wrong ones.

I used cable ties to hold the two parts together. Not sure if we have exactly the same items but mine has a tab that slides under the seat unit and then the holes on the side. I already have stomp grip on my tank so that keeps it in place and I've put more stomp grip on the tank bump.

So how do you like it ? By your pictures I can't tell if it's a track bike. I be been racing 1199 for a few years and tried a few times with foam pads to extend the tank back. Mainly to move my ass backwards. In my opinion it better and the your feet are more in line with foot pegs. Looks like these guys got it done. Anyway let us know how it feel like on the track
