Hi all,

For the experienced racers, what are some of the necessities that you take with you to a race meeting?

I'm not taking about your bike(s), stands, and tire warmers, but other items like type of tools, food, chairs, tables etc.?

Are there things that are a 'must have'?

Thanks
Al

If you're racing a Ducati, it is inevitable that .... will break...your bare necessities should be extremely exhaustive as there aren't a whole lot of people that race the Panigale and have the extra spares if you need them. If you're racing an R6, everyone in the pits will have spare parts if something breaks or if you crash...I have went from having a small sprinter, to the largest sprinter van, and now I tow a small trailer behind the extra long/extra tall sprinter for spares and other essentials. I have found that the 27 gallon tupperware bins are great to put my spares in -- they stack and sit nicely in a trailer and i can fit tons of .... in them.

Something to measure you fuel level with.
Spare battery.
Chamois lube.
Notepad with pen.
Ant repellent.
Any spare nut/bolt/screw that you thought could never vibrate loose and does.
Said already; clock.
Toilet paper; ya never know.
Something to scrub off your tires before putting you warmers back on.
Something to hold your canopy down.
Spare toe sliders if you drag them.
Nail clippers.
Anything your wife tells you to bring; don't argue; not even worth it.

If you are fresh to Racing like I am then your goal is simply to start and complete as many races as you can so it makes sense to take as much stuff as possible. I take spare leathers, boots, gloves, warmers, plenty of new tyres, as many bike spares as I can get my hands on and even a spare bike if I have access to one.

My friend on the other hand has been at it for 15 years and is only interested in the podium at a minimum so if anything is not right he doesn't even bother running as he knows that in the top class he cannot achieve it. It's extreme and not my way of thinking about it but he is running world superstock lap times.
