G'day all
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience fitting a radar detector to a Panigale R? or any other bike for that matter ,i have an Escort Redline EX, and where i live they are illegal so i need to hide it, does anyone know if the signal will pass through the plastic fairing if i hide it within? i don't need to see it because it is bluetooth and it will hook up to my headset.

putting it behind the fairing with block radar but not completely but enough that you won't be able to completely trust it. that's a pretty expensive radar detector to lose to confiscation maybe you should consider a remote (custom) install.

I've heard the NSW Police can pick up on radar detectors, wouldn't matter how well you hid it they would impound and pull apart till they found it. That's only what I've heard, that's why I don't have one but did in the 80's

Should be chasing a laser based/jammer as they don't use radar anymore.

Ive thought about installing one, will do one day.
If its a handheld it can come up that its being jammed no issues with cuntstable kodak

@able duc

In U.S. states that radar detectors are illegal the cops have "radar detector detectors" It will show that a vehicle is using a radar detector and that is enough PC to stop the vehicle.

@Halo2

Unless Aussies have a diff technology than the rest of the world, Laser (LIDAR) is only authorized for daytime use. So doppler is still the day/night method. Also, when you use a LIDAR jammer it will display "jam to gun" as the error code message on the screen and the Officer knows he is being jammed and can still stop you and write a ticket for the general speed law (U.S. courts). The LIDAR or doppler is only to CONFIRM the speed, the Officer testifies that he observed the speed and the device confirmed him.

@fens

Valentine One has remote heads and a display unit you can hide. Its also one of the best ones on the market.

Maybe use a GPS or phone mount altered to fit your detector. If you get stopped, you might have enough time to stuff it in your jacket without the officer noticing. Just throwing an idea out there.

There is also a device called a laser scrambler or something like that. It costs around 400-500 dollars, so obviously not cheap. However, it does not tell the LIDAR gun its being jammed, it just makes it extremely hard for the LIDAR to pick up the bike.

if you are serious about radar detectors, lasers, testing, and other solutions, this is the yt channel you'll want to check out: Vortex Radar

not 100% sure about the law enforcement situation for our mates down under but there is some good stuff on this channel for those of us in north america.

im totally a v1 guy and i use my sena bt + v1driver for audible and marc parnes for visual notification; currently i'm not running a laser jammer. ;)
