I’m gonna show u knuckle heads how to properly secure your phone to your bike.
It’s very important that you have access to police reports on waze and also FlightTracker24 open while you ride to monitor the sheriff’s helicopters cause there’s no escaping that

here’s the kit I got, it includes the large X grip which fits the plus (Max) size phones well

start by unpcking everything and separate the parts u need from the parts you don’t. Their patented Ram Mounting pieces like the rubber and nuts and bolts are not going to be used because they can’t be used on our bikes so throw them out:

my install will guarantee a perfectly stable iPhone. If u follow the ram mount instructions it will be floppy and loose and ...... feeling. My way will make it a very premium way to mount your phone.

more to come when I return from Home Depot with the rest of the hardware for this project, but we will be installing this into the location in the photo above like normal

left one is setup for ducati, right one is setup for my triumph which has a normal Ram Mount setup because the mounting location on that bike is normal

Tighten it down but don’t over do it or that spring loaded nit will crumble and the assembly will no longer be secure

X grip is perfect size for iPhone pro max and the large Galaxy Note

I can also vouch for this 1” ball mount as absolutely bombproof. A bit more $ than the wingnut, but another option to consider. Be well. 0338E451-72FB-4969-BA75-A0A91093CFEC.jpeg

Looks nice. What secures it inside the tube? Do you still have to use the toggle bolt like DucatiKev mentioned? That's how I have my Quadlock secured but I'm not completely satisfied with that set up because the toggle bolt works loose after time.

that’s funny, I cranked the toggle bolt in half cause I tightened it down too much.
idk what the answer is maybe blue thread locker

Yeah dude I'm on like my fourth toggle bolt! I finally wrapped both of the little flappers with a bit of electrical tape and that seems to give it a bit more grab once you tighten it down. I tried for hours to do what another user recommended which was wrap the original Quadlock part in tape but I couldn't get it to work. My OCD demands no movement at all once it's mounted lol.

I've got one of these sitting on the shelf. I can guarantee it doesn't come loose in a wreck that totals a V4... Silver with the blue ring. $60 +shipping by PP F&F takes it if anyone is interested

If you didn’t suffer terribly with OCD, you’d be on the GSX-R forum right now competing with other members for the longest interval between cleaning and lubricating your chain

I have this Ram Mount with toggle bolt setup on my 1299 and V4, tightened as best it can with no thread locker and there is no movement and hasn’t loosened up on me.
Maybe I’m lucky or it’s possible the toggle bolts are about to fail from being tightened beyond its capability but I’m happy with it

About 1000 miles on mine (2020 GSX-R1000 R) since I have cleaned and lubed it lol.

Haha no doubt!

I think the difference is that the quad lock ends up working it loose because you are twisting the phone case on and off every time. I only switched to it because my phone went flying off the Ram X when I got broadsided on the Supersport S. Granted I wasn’t using the little rubber band thingy but still.

It has a cam lock. Two steps to secure and then bulletproof. Interestingly, the manufacturer politely asks that owners not post photos or a detailed description of the locking mechanism. Suffice to say it works very well. Pricey, but lovely.
