So the parts guy at my local shop and I were talking about the new CRG carbon levers that I ordered a week ago that finally came in, and I mentioned I was thinking of the 41t rear sprocket and he said he had one left from a special Ducati sale last month and he could sell it to me for $125 and said I would never see it for that price again and any aftermarket item would be wayyy more.

I'm not a rear sprocket whiz but don't think I'll use it for a long while, but is that a good deal? Anyone need one more than I do? :D

How much more low end takeoff does this really make on an already fasssst bike?

I think you need to replace your chain too if you go with the 41 tooth sprocket. I know I did. Cheaper way would be to go -1 in front and use the chain you have currently.

Or you could pay $89.95 for an aftermarket one. The $125 one sounds faster though.:)

(Not pushing this company they were just the first webpage I thought to go to.)

I, unfortunately, paid $122 for my 41t sprocket and I also needed a longer chain for another $125. So my price, installed, for the 41T conversion is $357. I am dropping it off tonight to have the sprocket and flywheel done.

Feedback please.....:)

Will do. Doing the 41t sprocket and flywheel at the same time so I won't be able to comment much on just the flywheel. It is kind of an expensive upgrade (3 hours of labor and about $250 for the flywheel). So we shall see...

What are you expecting to happen once you get the bike back? Quicker takeoff, seemingly more torqiness, high rev at a lower speed?? Just wondering if I actually need this done or not. Will be doing some trackdays soon with her but not going pro anytime soon :).

Yes, I'm expecting the engine to rev faster because of less unsprung mass. This would be comparable to adding lighter weight wheels to your bike. Reducing unsprung mass will increase the dynamic response of the system. With the wheels the bike will accelerate faster without adding HP; the flywheel should be the same, albeit smaller, effect.

It will make the bike more prone to stalling on take-offs since we are removing the mass from the flywheel but that will just take time getting used to feathering the clutch differently during take-offs.

I drop my bike off tonight and pick it up on Saturday. I will certainly update this thread on my impressions. I am not a pro rider by any means so please take anything I say for what it is!! lol.
