Running the RB race module on my 1199s. Love this thing. Was at the track this weekend and had a section that would really have benefitted from clutchless down-shifts in rapid succession.

I'm still running the stock Ducati QS.

Does anyone know if the Rapid Bike QS unit can be programmed to do down-shifts as well?

Thanks

It won't. You need something like the BSD auto blipper pro for both up/ down. I have a discount code if you are interested.

Thank you. Might take you up on that. Was thinking auto blopper but wanted to check rb first cause I like the platform.

As do I. I've been using it for 3 yrs now. Two years racing.

Have you switched your shift pattern yet? Auto blip may be cool but I find at the track it's so natural on the reverse shift. the slipper does most of the work and my hand is so trained to give a small blip anyway. Never had the chassis upset yet while downshifting.

Is this for an 1199 or 1299. I just installed a new Translogic QS in place of the stock DQS. Night and day difference. It is a custom unit that is plug and play. The stock DQS is great if you have never had a strain gauge shifter but compared to a real QS, the DQS is crap. Rapidbike. I'm doing a trial run with two opposing RBQS paired into the RB race box. It should work. Attack did this on their MotoGP bike. Pros and cons. Pros are with the Translogic you get auto blip as its plug&play. Cons with the Translogic are like the stock set up, the shift points are not adjustable. Pros with the RB setup are you get programmable shift points. Cons would be no auto blip and you need two QS moduals unless you can get a dual channel QS with the correct voltage signal.

You lost me. But I want to hear your recommendations after testing!! [emoji12]

A quick update here. Ended up buying and installing a BlipBox unit. I had my first track day on it yesterday and I'm very impressed. The whole system works very well. The "blip" was perfect and never resulted in any type of surging and shifting in general was much improved (crisper) over the stock switch. This all results in downshifts that are later, cleaner and faster.

I know some people are all about clutch modulating and blipping with the throttle, but I realized this weekend why I was having issues with this. The RBW system on the 1199 is not the same as a direct cable connection (like on the older bikes) - its not as precise/ snappy. The 1199 throttle feels vague and mushy and I could never get a good consistent blip with my hand to match revs. The slipper helps with this, but it never felt clean. The BlipBox unit calculates the blip and sends it through. Its perfect. Every time. With zero upset. I love this thing.

With my PCV and autotune, race mapped ecu and the play taken out of the throttle the throttle is precise and easy to blip while downshifting (even clutchless), but a gadget that does it for you will let you put your attention elsewhere I suppose so that you can concentrate on more important stuff.

Jeez man, we get it. PCV is in your view the best option. You've reminded us enough times. Now can you please change the record.

i blip on all bikes and never use the clutch.

on the Grom on the street and track

on the SV track only

On the pani street only.

works pretty well with a bit of practice.

I'm trying to untrain my brain/muscle memory to not blip the throttle on the Anni and it's really hard. I don't even realize I'm doing it until DQS gets upset and shifts hard. Thinking about disabling it so I DON'T eventually untrain my brain for when I ride something that doesn't have it.
