Good afternoon everyone,

I fixed my rear brake issue only to find that the Master Cylinder was the culprit... Needless to say, I fragged another caliper.

I'm looking for the following items:

Rear Master Cylinder
Rear Rotor

I think I'll be rebuilding one of the 2 calipers that I've melted the seals out of.

Please let me know what you have that can help out... Other than the advice that my Kawasaki riding friends provided (Sell it)

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

What did you think was the cause for the first failure? Only reason I ask is because I did the same thing to my brakes... It was after installing woodcraft rear sets and believe my problem to be improper adjustment of the brake pedal.

I am waiting on the replacement parts and just gathering as much info as I can before I put all the new parts on.

The first time it appeared that the master cylinder had bound up forcing the seizure. Got the MC all cleaned up and lined everything up perfectly. Installed new stuff, bled everything.

As I was riding, I ended up feeling a little bit of a squishy rear on my test ride, so I stopped using the brake. When I stopped about 20 minutes later, the rear brake pads were melted into molten metal bits all over the rim and the caliper is half seized up.

The Master Cylinder is the cause again. Something got bound up.

I was actually really surprised that the MC would be the failure point... I can understand if it is not perfect alignment, but, this was spot on. Do a quick once over on your MC, just to make sure... I'm sure you will be good. I just have had really bad luck with this bike so far the past 12 months.

Yeah I will be looking everything over with a fine tooth comb for sure. I will also be only going on short rides and checking if often to be sure everything is in working order.

I had the same results as you with the rear brake pads basically melting destroying the calipers and doing on number on the rotors.

Thanks for the info and hope your luck changes for the better with the bike.
