Which aftermarket rearsets will allow you to swap to GP shifting and retain the original/OEM shift sensor?

On other bikes, some do and some don't. It all depends on how/where the shift linkage is orientated on the rearsets.

You can use the stock shifter/sensor with the DP and Woodcraft rearsets for GP shifting.

DP you just reconfigure the parts from standard to GP. Woodcraft you have to buy the outer bracket and the shift pedal separate.

Excellent, thanks for that.

The only problem is my primary sponsor doesn't carry DP rearsets. They carry Woodcraft and I love them as far as durability and parts replacement...but they don't offer the adjustability I like. I like to move my rearsets as far forward as possible and WC don't let you do that.

In addition to Woodcraft, my sponsor carries Sato, Driven (D-Axis and TT models) and Lighttech

Anybody know if those can be made GP with the stock sensor?

At $1300+ it may be in your interest to find a dealer willing to sponsor you for rearsets and other misc items

Yeah good call. I had no idea somebody would charge that much for rearsets. The Woodcraft ones are like $400 and somebody can't tell me it costs 3x+ that much to fabricate the DP ones. That is the epitome of "paying for the Ducati name".

I would be better off getting rearsets from my sponsor and then buying the required different sensor.

AFAIK/ sato

Also Gilles and lightech

Chris, I subscribe to getting pegs forward to get weight in feet, not hands and I'm using the Woodcraft and have them all the way forward and they are pretty good. The stock location had my hands loaded bad, now they aren't. Try some before you right them off. Eric Wood knows his stuff, and while his stuff has limited adjustability, its usually on the mark. Early on I wrested with ergos on an R6 that had woodcraft. I switched to Vortex for the adjustability. When I got them adjusted perfectly, their location was the same as the woodcraft was!
If you end up with woodcraft, you have to order as GP. Rearsets are rocksolid, and shifting is solid and clean. Opt for the folding shift and brake toe pieces and lowside away without killing the rearsets. If you were closer I'd let you do a few laps to feel them.

Really?

Maybe I read the description wrong, but I thought the WC were only adjustable up and rearwards. I didn't know they were adjustable forwards.

If that is the case, then I will get some. I love WC rearsets and have/had them on just about everything I have ever ridden.

So if I order them in GP shift, they will retain the OEM shift sensor that comes on the bike and everything (clutchless up/down shifts) will work?

Yes, it uses stock sensor to shift GP. Best part of these is that the set has to be ordered for gp or standard, not one size fits all, so no sloppy shifting. I would email Eric wood at woodcraft about whether they are forward of stock, he answers any tech questions himself. I know the stock Pani was the worst ergos ever, and while I could ride my r6 for hours, my hands hurt in 10 minutes on Pani.WC rearsets and clipons, stompgrip and building a flatter seat and this bike is nice!!!

Ive got to get you to look at my Rizomas i think i need them higher but they are maxed out to the up position and maybe more forward.

Thanks, I emailed Eric.

I like aftermarket rearsets because of the adjustment (I want them forward to get weight off my hands, and up for ground clearance). The shorter peg also aids with ground clearance. Dragging the peg will unload the rear and can cause a crash.

I also want the fixed footpeg because it acts like a slider in a lowside.

Not to mention it is easier to get replacement parts for aftermarket rearsets.

Even though I havent tried putting my controls forward as mentioned, I can get some of the weight off of the ball area of my feet (I have flat feet) Also a metal rod in my hip and some other assorted pins and screws in my left leg.

Rearsets along with proper sorted suspension are for me at least the 2 best improvements that I can ever put on a bike.

I heard back from Eric and he said the WC rearsets can/do move the pegs forward, but only a minimal amount (he said less than 5mm).
