Hi,

I need to remove the mirrors for a track day. I noticed it's pretty easy to do that but I'm not sure if I need to put the screws back in the holes? Do I need nuts I guess?

Thanks for the help.

By any chance do you know how to remove the tag holder? (everything)

Thanks

If I remember correctly, there are 2 bolts inside the "trunk" under the door to the tool bag.

Then you just unclip the wiring, and you should be good to go. I might be forgetting a step or so, but its very straightforward when you get into it.

attached is pic from parts manual, tag post is circled #19. Four bolts all accessed from under the tail section cover ( I can't recall but I don't think you have to take off the rider seat). Don't have my bike with me right now so can't confirm.

I've got a set of Corse Dynamics block off plates I'll sell you for $45 shipped.

The fun part for me was putting the mirrors back on. It's a tight fit with the connectors for the turn signals.

With the plate holder, that's one benefit of the DP piece. 4 bolts, disconnect the lights, and put the plug back over the hole.

Putting the mirrors back is, as bwaide stated, the hard part. Took me 3 min. to remove the mirrors and over 30 to put them back. Not a huge deal, but after a day of riding on the track my forearms were numb. I'll fold/tape next time.

yep, and downside with removing if doing a lot of track days, the wiring takes a beating, so I'm taping from now on.

remove the mirrors because they fold at speeds above 200kmh, it happened on 2 panigale during my track day

if you plan to estabilish the new moto GP lap record then buy mirror plates otherwise use straps to fix the windshield to the fairing

Mission accomplished

One more question, when you tape off the lights is there any fuse to pull off or do you just leave the light on?

Thanks

I'm lazy, I just leave the lights functioning. Also, someone here suggested gaffers tape as opposed to duct tape. It works very well and leaves almost no residue (duct tape can get a bit messy especially on a hot day)

I use the blue painter's tape. As I am constantly tracking my bike, to save time I just leave the tape on. An added bounus, it looks like I have HIDs because of the blue tinted lighting.

no. you can squeeze some piece of rubber in between.

as for the lights, there's a 10A fuse... one minute and out.
