I deleted the charcoal canister and the attached solenoid, it was my understanding that JP or SmartMoto had a eliminator plug for the solenoid.

Has anyone just cleared this error with no future issues? When I left the solenoid on originally it didnt throw a code, but when i took it off it came on, then when I put it back on the error remained.

I have a 2021 and that plug looks different on my bike. I'm using the eliminator plug that came with my Akrapovic full system.

You probably have to do three cycles of on/off for the code to clear with the solenoid plugged in. Some codes will clear with this method, some you need to hook it up to a scan tool.

There may be something with the EU5 bikes that makes that circuit harder to put an eliminator on it; like there's more going on then the ECU just seeing a resistance value and not tripping an error. I vaguely remember reading that about EU5, but can't remember what sensor it was for. If there's an eliminator for EU5, I would think it would work.

I appreciate your response. Not many people seem to have experience on this. I also have a full Akra exhaust but the dealer didn’t do a delete of this during their install, it was all left alone. I removed it later for other reasons. I might try your reset idea, if that doesn’t work I’m going to buy an OBDStar iScanner. I definitely think it being EU5 is what’s causing the issue finding an eliminator, I spoke with JP and they ‘might’ make one in the future. I was wondering if I ask my ECU/Map dealer if they can add code to delete this that way?

I don't know who your map source is, but send a PM to @DeussenEngines. I used them for my last tune and couldn't be happier with the level of service before and after paying them. I very much consider the owner, Daniel, and expert in this space and I trust he will get you sorted.

I think I’m going to switch over to Dan .. it would be really nice to have a liaison for random stuff aside from tunes and I’ve been following him on here, very impressed to say the least. I’ll reach out. Also, appreciate your support on this site, glad you’re active, always giving back and trying to help.
