Would like input for this subject. Have a chance to possibly pick up a 2014 1199 Superleggera for 30K. Have 4 miles on it. Trying to get it for 28.5K. Any input wether it's worth paying the 30K for it. I plan on riding it and not for an investment. Not sure how good the resale value is on this. Welcome all input on wether they think it's a good deal or should I look for a newer bike.

Bad investment even at 25k take half the money buy a 15/16R. Now you have a good motor, up/down shift. .... can the oem crap like wheels, exhaust, bodywork and suspension then use that other half the money that will get you good suspension, carbon bodywork, exhaust and .... load other good components that the SL didn't have.

SL has mag wheels, carbon fairings, damn good motor and a full race akra. Only thing mayyyybe worth investing in is suspension but that's only if you're that fast of a rider. Otherwise, they're more than good enough.

30k with 4 miles on in, if you have the money buy it! Its a special bike if you like to ride one, if just for track then any other will do.

The paint job and the wheels are pretty epic... never ridden one though. There's a poster on here who raves and raves about his.

Thanks for all the inputs. thought about a normal Panigale R but haven't really seen any cheaper than 17-18K. Buy time you add on wheels suspension brakes and. few other things you are over what the SL would cost. Problem these days is the cost of the normal bike has gone up.

Resale value? I got buddy who bought few years ago 1199SL with no miles for$41k and keep this thing in his living room never road.he thinks this bike one day gone be worth lot more than he paid,NO will not.from $80k to $40k now it’s $30k why bother.latest greatness get V4

I agree, Not sure why people think bikes are so valuable. Personally to me it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for. Makes me wonder why people think their used bikes worth so much money.

So overall, is it worth the money to get the 1199SL or go with the S1000RR. Main interest is street riding and no track days on it. Not sure if cost of maintenance would be more for the Due or the BMW. Inputs welcomed.

SL for me any day because you can’t argue it cool to pull up with one and in 10 years time it would be still cool to pull up on one wearas in 10 years time its just another old S1000RR.

Test drive a 15 up 1199 or 1299 then buy it and ditch the rest the crap.
Are you upset Ducati hasn’t released a new big twin Duc with all the new electronics and bodywork? Like a 2020 or 2021 1299SP

I might sell my 2015 1299S if someone wants it

You know me Kev I don't buy the junk the factory puts out. I might build one last custom 99 before finishing up the current one which is off the charts pics/details coming soon.

Anyone know the average price for insurance on one.

Real insurance is like $2-3k/yr. Alternatively you can get some meaningless coverage and then come on here and post about how low your rate is.
