Greetings All,
Heading to Michigan the memorial day weekend Sat at 3am. Leaving from maryland looks like a 9 hour ride. I have a mapped out route per google maps but I dont think I want to slug it all the way there but I need to get there in at reasonable time . Any suggestions on route and or some nice riding in Michigan and Toronto? Thanks in advance. dc

Check your tires (I bring the socket with me), sprocket, and chain (bring a small can of chain lube). Don't forget to add moto coverage to your AAA towing package just in case. Map out the dealerships along your route as well.

Well I know now that when most people say "Detroit" they don't mean THAT Detroit. By "that" I mean:

But if you are going to the more apocalyptic parts of the city, you'll find it relatively empty and safe during the day. Get the .... out by around 4pm, though.

Thank you fellas hero I may have to check some of those locations I am sure it's only a few blocks from my sis

Let see, from Maryland to Detroit is going to be a very boring trip. You need to take the old PA turnpike full of pothole jumping on Ohio turnpike full of cop just waiting for you to go 71 on a 70 miles zone and is going to be the longer strait away in your life like 180 mile getting off in the .... hole of toledo jumping on i75 and trust me you will know when you hit Michigan stated line, that is only if you don't get pull over in toledo 500 meter from the Michigan welcome sign. then you are going to ride strait again for 80 miles on a road full of pothole and random ....,yes I did onces and is not fun at all, just take the plane. only the Upper peninsula got good fun road Michigan.

zhit.........

There's not many fun roads in MI until you get along some of the lakeshores up north. Expect it to be pothole city unless you are on the interstate and then you are still going to have to deal with thump thump thump on the expansion joints.

Props to you for going there ion a bike! Couldnt imagine the experience. Id be scared enough going around in a car locked up so a bike wouldve been pretty intense
