Looks like I need new front rotors. They're burned from all the latte riding per dealer and I noticed braking performance on this set sucks compared to my other front wheel/rotor combo.
Are you guys running OEM or upgraded and do you actually notice a difference in braking or rotor longevity with say T-drive's or Supersports? TIA

I went with Supersports each time I have gotten new rotors - I have not ever really heard anyone say there is a discernible difference. But the T drives ardent that much more... One thing to consider is that 330 also do not provide a any real difference over 320. 320 is less rotating mass and then you can ditch the spacers which hare somewhat annoying

Thanks, I Believe I read that the supersports and t-drives are a little wider giving a little more life possibly.

I am using T-drives, I didn’t notice any difference from stock.

It’s not like the difference you feel switching pads. I did change them in between seasons though, so it’s not like I tested them back to back.

I got a pretty good price at WRS.IT, ~535 euro including shipping and tax last winter

you should be good to go...and wow $580 from Ducati. There is nothing wrong with mine, about 30K miles on them. Was saving for replacements on my 1299. Make me an offer buddy. Also have calipers.

I've got stock, and Brembo HPK discs. Can't tell any difference.

The thicker discs, are supposed to help with reducing fade, through less heat transfer.

The biggest difference in performance will come from changing pads.
Swapping between stainless rotor brands,T-drives or buttons is not going to make much difference. Thicker rotors have a higher mass so in theory more heat stability, so while they heat up fractionally slower they will also release it slower as well. You could get iron rotors but that is a whole other can of worms and generally not worth it for the hassle. Stock rotors are fine in almost all normal circumstances.

Have you got your gauges out and checked the wear limit and runout? You can break the glaze with some emery cloth. It more likely that you have a pad issue that a disc issue if they are within tolerances. Id also stay with 330's if for the only reason that you can fit brake ducts.

Wear is ok but very glazed. I tried a different pad and they never bedded in right. They actually started to crumble a bit on the corners.
I was going to but SBS D1's but was talked into the "same" pad by WRP which supposedly is made by SBS but a little cheaper. Threw them out.
Running Vesrah XX or Brembo RC's with other rotors I have no issues. Wasn't sure if you break the glaze down enough to get a good break in on a new pad...

Supersport Rotors are a lot more sturdy, 10 rivets and full floating rather than 6 and semi floating, they are thicker too, I have them on my Multi and haven't noticed any improvement in braking (not a track bike, obviously...) however they are cheaper than genuine and look and feel to be much better build quality.

Can't PM here anymore????

What the recommended brake pads? I noticed a couple of guys saying they get a different feeling out of different pads. How so?

I doubt my skill level really dictates the necessity of different pads, I'm just wonder how much of a difference there is. I've read it can be substantial, more so than going from a OEM master to a RCS, but not as sexy so there's less draw to changing pads.

Pads can make a pretty significant difference.

I didn’t like the feel of the stock pads. I switched to Vesrah SRJL-XX and find them much better than the stock pads.

First time I went to dual sinter pads, from carbon, I had to increase my fork spring rate. The initial grab was so much greater. It was a hard transition to make!

But, over the stock Brembo pads, not huge differences, but something like the Z04 or SBS DS1 is an improvement (for track riding), and also, usually last longer. The DS1 is also relatively low in the amount of brake dust it creates.

Having said that, I haven't ever tried Vesrah, relatively unknown in the UK.
