Schuberth SR1: anyone using it?

I have the SR1 and love the helmet! It has a better fit than the Shoe and Arai helmets that I have owned in the past. Light weight, very quite, and great vision!

Tried the Large and had the same experience.. I went up two sizes to a XXL 62/63.. They did not sell the SR1 in Mn so received from Europe.. Love those European sizes..

I have the sr1 technology and everyone tells me how sexy of a helmet it is. This maybe the most comfortable helmet I've ever had on. The ceramic coating on the padding feels great on your face. It may be a bit tight to get on but after that it feels great. No pressure points at all. I had it on for five hours straight with no complaints, just kept it on while filling up cause I just wanted to get going again. I got it for a little less than 800 when buying my panigale and after wearing it I wouldn't have had a problem paying full price. The pinlock works great and the rear spoiler does make a difference when in full tuck or sitting up. I haven't tested the ventilation as I've only ridden on cold days but I guarantee it'll be better than my past bell and icon helmets.

If u are considering it I don't think you'll be disappointed with ur purchase.

Really... well im a 58 so xxl would be a ........ size for me to try....

Your head is just shaped like Chunk, it's ok.

I'd consider the helmet for the price if it came with some other graphic options.

Best damn track helmet I've ever worn. . . I like Arai Corsair V's (as use that one for street use), but the SR1 is an absolutely great helmet. Quieter than the arai (adjustable vents for wind and sound if you want more audio) - and comfortable as can be. .. Still need to put a foam block to keep the helmet up but i need to do that with every one.

I have the SR1 Technology also and it may be the last helmet I ever buy. Yeah the fit is a little snug but because it weighs next to nothing, once it's on I don't even realize it. I wore for four hours straight today and absolutely no pain or stiffness what so ever. It vents a ton of air, and living in south Florida that's also my main concern. Everything else has already been said.
+1 on looks...damn sexy especially with tint or mirror (I love the graphics)
+1 on sound...very quiet and that without messing with the sound dampening pads, just the vents
+1 pinlock visor rocks
+1 spoiler is functional

I paid $700 for mine and it feels like I stole at that price. Fantastic product

700$ is a great price for that helmet. From Europe you could get it for around 550-600$ but the customer service is not anywhere close to revzilla or other US sites. Had to cancel my order from FC-moto as they did not have it stock. Found a US seller on ebay and got it for 750$ + 50$ to ship. Should have it in the next week or so. Heard good things about it.

Large... Killed my ears trying to get it on.. ridiculous neck roll design S2 is the same....

That neck roll is why I bought a Schuberth C3 Pro yesterday. Around the sides of my neck is where I was getting the bad rumbling noise, even with ear plugs in. I have been studying and jonesing for a Schuberth for a while. The Schuberth factory truck was at my dealer the other day and let me test ride one. Very quiet.

But to your point, the C3 is a flip helmet so its not nearly as hard to put on as the Schuberth full face helmets. After wearing nothing but pure full face helmets since the early '80s, I've decided that the quality flip face helmets will give me as much protection and they are easier to put on and offer other conveniences.

While the Schuberth helmets are expensive, most of them come standard with a flip down tinted shield and a Pinlock shield, so you don't have to buy two shields and a Pinlock (which works!).....but you still damn near have to take out a three year loan to buy one.

I have one and it's being custom painted right now. Should be ready in about two weeks.
The build quality is top notch and the fit is great. I only took it for a quick spin before I dropped it off but on the short ride I took it felt great.
I also have a corsair V and that is a great helmet also.
Not really sure I put one over the other. Just two great helmets.
If you get one, unless you just hate the fit you won't be disapointed.

i am able to compare the finest helmets i found for me in the market (AGV Pista, Schuberth Sr1, C3, BMW system6, Arai rx7 RC).
the sr1 is one of the best and the lightest helmet i have.
the only bad thing is that it ´s not so easy to put on and the vertical sight is not as good as the pista.

Did you look at the Sport Integral? It only weighs 1 kg. and I think will be my next for my Beemer.

got one, didn't ride it at Aragon/spain as it needs a paintjob.
but i rode the shark carbon and it was not good at 225kph +. loads of lifting and was pressed against nose very harshly..

bought the SR1 for the lack of lift, the visor i know from the C3 i have on the Multi, and the very tight fit. the clearance in the neck should help me to get lower.

grtz

FYI, I have a brand new, size large SR1 Technology in the matte black finish that I'm about to return for fit reasons. Ordered it out of Europe since I wanted a lighter ECE version (the DOT ones are a couple hundred grams heavier), but it didn't take more than a few minutes on my head to know it wasn't going to work for me - gives me a headache from too much pressure on my forehead. Size is right (I'm 58cm), it's just not the right shape for my bean, unfortunately. I am on the long-oval side, almost an Arai Profile shape; the original Arai Vector worked well for me. The SR1 internal shape seems similar to a Shoei RF1100 to me; bit tight front to back with some room on the sides.

Brief impressions from handling it and wearing it for 5-10 minutes indoors mirror most of the above; very light, with a definite race fit. Very snug neck roll (which will help a lot with wind noise from the bottom, which my Bell Star suffers from horribly), but fine once on. Comes down around your face lower than some with a larger chin bar, which should also help with noise. Haven't really messed with the vents or even taken the plastic cover off the faceshield, so I have no idea of how well they work on the road, but it's a really nice bit of kit - wish it fit me!

So; if anyone in the US wants a shot at it before I send it back, PM me. With shipping, exchange fees and customs duties I've got $760 in it, which is what it would take to get one like it into the US. $660 shipped in ConUS if you're interested; DOT versions are $969 online currently.
