Seat cowl came apart--need help

The black rubbery part of my seat cowl came clean off. As you can see, the white cement adhered to the red plastic part well but not so much to the black rubbery piece.

Anyone have any ideas as to what I should use to "re-glue" the black piece to the red piece? The white cement that is already on the red piece will not come off. Maybe some epoxy can glue the black piece directly to the white cement?

I used silicone on mine, its holding better then the original crap! leave the white crap on and lightly use silicone.
 
is this silicone something i can get at home depot? i’ve seen silicone window sill sealant but i assume you are referring to something different.
 
same thing happened to me, i forget how i glued it back on. pretty sure i used strong 2 sided sticky tape but whatever i did, it's solid now.

i get home and look back to see the black piece is gone. so i go to the tape meaning i review my camera footage and i see it fly off on the freeway. i get back in my car go back to the freeway, pull over on the breakdown lane, walk down scanning below, found it undamaged. got lucky.

these are cheap and easy to replace but the color might not match.

Came off in the freeway...
Waiting on a new part and will rely on the advice here as to getting it to stick...

No.

It seems rubberized and just doesn't stick, even if you could get it, you should use something else. had no problem with typical silicone gasket sealer
