The Whales ......
Have any of you fellas tried the comfort seat or own it? If so, how would you compare the "race" seat and stock seat to the "comfort" seat regarding height, comfort, material, looks, etc? I did an hour long test ride one day with the stock seat and another hour long test ride the next day with the race seat. The stock seat was way more comfortable and made me feel more "in the bike" than the race seat due to the height of the race seat. The stock seat also allowed me to hug the tank more. The stock seat did feel a little hard toward the end of the ride, not the worst ever, but it did make me ponder looking into a more comfortable seat.

I haven't tried the 'race' seat so can't comment on that but i have put the comfort seat my bike, not totally convinced yet but im sure i'll get used to it. It feels quite a lot higher than the stock seat but is more comfy.
The stock seat i found okay even after a couple of hours on it, but it was far too slippy for me, any slight braking etc and i was sliding all round the seat.
The comfort seat keeps me in one place due to the material it's made of, i don't know how everyone else finds the stock seat ?

I agree about how the stock seat didnt offer much grip. Does the comfort seat allow you to hug the tank comfortably and not feel like your taint (area between balls and arsehole) is getting mashed?

Comfort seat is great.

Looks good as well, had mine on since new.

I found the same, i rode bikes with the std seat but ordered a race seat with mine and first time out it felt as if you are sitting on top of the bike so i refitted the std one and i am getting the race one cut down and re covered

cut down and re covered, thats what i did to my standard seat, which i received today.
i am more in to this old school foamed rubber seats i remember from my bimota. that give me a better feeling whats happening on the rear wheel than sitting on a camel hump.
i did not like the s1000rr seat and changed it. i hated the panigale seat but since today i am really happy. now i am more in the bike and the angle to the tank is perfect.

I agree that the stock seat with a better ride position. I have the racing seat and Im not crazy about the hight. Im looking into having the stock seat recovered or wait for Ducati to actually sell the one they have in the catalog!! its a race seat with the same profile as stock. I lived in europe for a bit and Im not surprised by this inaccuracy in service is flicked at the consumer.

I like Ducati's bikes but, how many other parts will be different to whats advertised in the catalog.

simply weak

Karrl, would you mind posting a pic of the modified seat when you get a chance? It would be nice to have a seat the same thickness as the stock seat but a different foam and re-covered.

i will do that tomorrow as for now its night in germany and no light in my garage.
but here ´s mine without a seat. i was riding the bike for some days just sitting on the plastic-seat to check if the angle-position is ok for me.

Did you have to cut your fairing in order to get that stand to work?

Comfort seat is better than the stock seat. More cushion for the boys, so against the tank is a bit more comfortable. Taller by a bit, but now that I've done 300 miles on it, it seams to be breaking in a bit and losing some of its height.

It is not so good, that I can't imagine another maker like Sargent or Corbin coming up with something better. I've got a 1000 mile weekend planned and should have a final take after I spend 3 consecutive days on it.

Thanks bud. I'd like to hear back when you finish your weekend ride to see how the seat works out. Have fun!

I prefer the stock seat the Comfort seat, i just need to get it recovered to give it more grip !!! so the comfort seat will have to do till then .

yes, its a gripper material and the same material lasted on my s1000rr for 12500 miles without any problem. here in germany there are many upholsterer that will do the job for 65 usd.
