Second time ever on the on the track. I had a blast. I'm keeping my Pani in track mode, no longer riding in the street. I think I may purchase another more "street friendly, ie comfy" Ducati for the streets. I also put slicks on for the time on the track. I immediately felt the improvement. I ran Pirelli Superbike SC1 front/rear. Also, I installed Woodcraft Rear-Sets. Gp Shift, that made a huge difference also. I did, however, forget the shift pattern a couple of times and crapped my pants! FYI I was at the Fontana Speedway in California (now called Auto Club Speedway) and was finally running lap times in the 1:40s if that means anything to anyone (it does to me as it shows improvement). Fastest being 1:45. Anyways, very happy to be on the track and very fortunate to live in Southern California with a few decent tracks to travel and explore.

Awesome dude and congrats on dropping the lap times.. Enjoy the great weather there its starting to get chilly up here.

I'm still on the fence on whether to take my 1299S out to the Corvette Museum track Sunday. Morning temp is predicted to be mid-40s, warming up to about 60 by the afternoon. In full leathers, I prefer cooler weather, but a cold track is a slippery track, and the NCM track is very fast.

But then again, much of the reason why I now have a 1299S, while this time last year I had a BMW S1000RR, is handling. I wanted a bike that I could flick around more, and weigh MUCH less, and I've now gotten my 1299 more or less to where I want it for the track.

Good luck with trying to keep your Panigale as a trackday queen; that was my intention, as I was using my Multistrada as a daily rider. This year though, I've rarely taken the Multi and always go for the Panigale. It's just too much fun a bike not to ride :)

I'm in the same boat as kismet.
I bought a cbr600rr to use for the road, but I ended up still using the panigale both for track and road :D despite having to put /take off the mirrors and tail/plate. Hence why lights stay on even for track. It's just so much more satisfying to ride

If you are new to the track don't worry about your times focus more on your lines, body position etc the times will drop but it would be the least of my concerns.

Good luck
