The modifications continue. The mileage is up to 7300 miles now. It goes in for its 7500 miles service in another ride.

I love the grip and look of the DP Race Seat. I didn't like how high it put me on the bike. It made it harder on the wrists being pushed higher. I also kept getting the back of my thigh caught on the seat when hanging off.

I took the DP Race Seat and Stock Seat over to our Upholsterer. He took the seat cover off and shaved down the foam to 1/2" higher then the stock seat. Then he put the cover back on.

Now, I get the feeling of being "In The Bike" again!

The foam is actually really comfortable after this mod! Went on an 8 hour ride last week and never got sore on the seat.

Very Nice lefty. If the 899 seat doesnt do it for me I may follow this route.

Did you get a quote for the 7500 miles service and what do they do?

The 899 seat wasn't any different from what I could tell from the stock seat.

I looked over the list at the dealership for the checks that are performed on the 7500 miles service, It is 2 pages long. It does not include a valve check/adjustment until 15,000 miles. I should know in a week or so when I take it in.

Mine is in the dealership every 1500 miles for tires and oil change since new, so they know the bike like one of their own. I constantly clean and inspect everything after each ride. I don't expect them to find anything out of shape or loose.

I expect about a $300.00 - $400.00 bill for just the 7500 miles service with all the checks on the list.

Thx... Man I really need to read the rest of the owners manual...

On a side note:

I have had the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC2 tires on the bike for 1300 miles. The wear front and rear is very nice and uniform. I think the front and back will be done together in the next ride or two.

The grip and feel from these tires is out of this world! They are amazing everywhere I put them.

The owners manual for the "R" states that the DTC setting of 1 was designed for these tires, it's unreal!!

I even got caught in a small rain shower 2 weeks ago on Montezuma Pass. I immediately slowed the pace way down, I was shocked at how much traction I still had. The bike was in complete control as I picked the pace up feeling out the tires traction level. I kept all my custom setting in the dash not backing anything down. The only time I felt the front end push was going over any visible standing water in the road.

These pics are the same ride a little earlier at Palomar Mountain on the way to Montezuma Pass.

Nice pics lefty. You.forgot to put your knee down like a squid haha.

Goes to look up SC2 not sp v2.....

Nice shots Lefty, I still think yours is about the best looking R out there, subtle mods but looks great, not too much.

Thanks! I still have a very large laundry list of Carbon Fiber and then Magnesium Wheels to go. I have been trying the minimalist approach to modifying the bike up to this point. I don't have much more I can take off without putting something on to replace it. All carbon fiber bodywork and the Mag wheels should shed some pounds combined.

Last time I weighed it on digital scales it was 409-410 lbs with a full tank of fuel just like the pictures above. I want to get the weight down to below 400 lbs with a full tank in street trim.
