It was an easy job on a 1199S. Sometimes there are little tabs on the air duct covers that you have to be careful with. If I recall you push the air duct covers towards the headlight or front of the bike to release them. Just take your time.

I have them on my bike and as long as you are careful with them they go on easily. Just take it slow and make sure you are removing them the correct direction and they will be fine. Mine are the Ducati OEM ones. That being said they don't seem super fragile but still be careful.
