Doing a trackday at Laguna Seca.

I have a full Akra system with inserts. Is it even remotely in the acceptable range which looks to be 90db. I'm thinking I should just leave it at home for this one. Kinda sucks though.

if you're talking about the inserts (db killers) that come with the full akra system then no, it will not pass sound

yes. you will get black flagged. But you may get by half throttle.

I've seen many Pani and Rs (Termi) not get black flagged. I wasnt able to run my R with Akra (stock) at Laguna so I am unable to give you info on that.

Best option is to bring two bikes just in case.

I ran my 1198sp with a full system and baffles at that track. Stayed far left and rolled off a bit - zero sound issues.

Also heard they need to definitely know it's your bike - so if you and another bike roll by together they can't get you. I tried this and it seemed to work.

Personally I think you'll be fine. Just be careful coming up the hill out of 5 and you should be fine.

I know it sounds a bit agricultural , but has any tried some chicken wire stuffed into the muffler ? It does kill the db's a bit and doesn't stop the flow as much as halving the diameter with killers .

build a race track THEN build homes all around that track where they can complain about the noise and shut down said track.

Liberalism is truly a mental disorder

can you bring 2 bikes and say the last session take the ducati out. at that point does it matter if you get black flagged its the last session of the day.

That's exactly what I was thinking dude. .... it. It would be a shame not to at least do one WFO lap around one of my top 5 bucket list tracks.

well, if you really didn't care, then i guess you could.

what happens is you'd go out, do 1 lap, get recorded for sound between turns 5 and 6, they'll record you as too loud and walkie talkie it to the flagger at the start finish where you'll get a meatball flag to come in. At that point, you'd have to pit at the end of the lap to speak to them, meaning you'd only go around twice, or you can disregard them all together and keep going and get yelled at after the session's over

or you can ask for a free lap to "test" your sound before it counts as a formal strike against you but you'd have to come in immediately after that 1 free test so it can't be strung together to make 2 or 3 laps

On the "test" lap will they radio in what you're at so you can get an idea of what needs to be done? I'm guessing no, but that would be helpful.

They do, you tell the starter before heading out that you want a free test, they'll radio your bike's number to the attendant at the sound booth, after you take off, you need to pit back in after that lap and see the starter who will tell you what you measured

I know where you are coming but this is wrong. The track organizer specifically ask you not to do this.

This causes issues with track and track organizer thus you are hurting everyone after you.

I also agree this is stupid. You build a track and rich people move around them and complains...However, we as motorcycle track rider, we should not ruined it for other people.

Oh and I live 15 mins away from Laguna.

Hmmm.

Specifically they said "This is a 90db only event". Not knowing exactly where I am I don't see how you would know without doing a hot lap by the sound booth that is doing the measuring? I agree it would be wrong to ignore the flag and keep riding, which I wouldn't do.

At the track, you can measure it before you get onto the track but I wouldnt recommend that...then the sound people know you and your bike if you blow. maybe they'll keep an eye out for you? lol

I cant say for all but some organizer have mufflers that you can put on but of course not for all bikes and models.

They also understand so they stomp their feet during track safety brief not to go all out on after turn, the straight (half throttle) and stay to the left.
