Hi folks,

In case it's helpful to others, I wanted to give a very positive thumbs-up to EBay vendor mcmotorcycleparts. I bought Evotech upper and lower radiator guards and a fender eliminator for my 1199S. Shipping was free, and the parts arrived in one box, well cushioned and a day earlier than their earliest promised delivery date. They appear to carry the entire Evotech catalog.

Radiator guard installation is genuinely easy. Less than 30 minutes for both. I haven't tackled the fender eliminator yet, but it looks pretty simple. That's without me inevitably dropping a crucial bolt and having to remove the engine to find it again :)

I got all three items too, but ordered them online straight from Mother England. Lower radiator guard was a snap and the tail tidy was easy. I used Rizoma indicators with Evotech's adapters. Love the tail tidy.

I must say, the upper radiator guard has got me scratching my head. It doesn't seem to slip between the radiator and fairing like they say it should. Not sure if it's an "R" thing. Any tips?

I didn't have a problem with that. I hurt my back when crawling around doing the brake and gear lever height adjustments (what an insane PITA those are) but, as soon as I can move again, I'll take a photo of the upper rad guard install.

I've only owned the 'bike a couple of weeks, and am learning that it takes immense patience to work on it. Everything fits but, man, you need a PhD in origami to figure out how to put the fairings together. :)

I couldn't get a photo today, because I can't get the 'bike off its front wheel chock until my back improves. But I felt around the upper radiator, and there's a small ridge that the upper guard fits into. It's only 1-2mm deep, but enough to locate the guard.

When I first got the 'bike and took the fairings off to check everything, I had a heck of a time getting them back on correctly. At one point, I didn't locate the front edges of the side panels correctly to the black radiator surrounds. That meant that there wasn't a ridge there to locate the guards. Maybe you have the same issue? It's hard to imagine that Ducati changed the fairing design between the S and the R....

Hope that helps!

I'm pretty sure the fairing is the same, with the exception of the option of mounting the wider "flairs" in front of each hand grip on my R. That shouldn't affect the way the rad guard mounts, so I'll have another go at it. Thanks! Hope you feel better soon.

It slots straight in, just make sure that the front wheel is pointing straight ahead, as if the wheel is turned it drops a air flap that stops the guard going in.

I bet that's the problem. I have a rear axle stand, but usually use a front wheel chock. That's how the 'bike was parked when I installed the guards. Driving me crazy that I can't ride until my back improves. Note to self: don't get old.
