Greetings!

I ´ve decided to go for the SIDI-boots and I ´ve narrowed it down

to these two models.

MAG-1 black / AIR
VORTICE black / AIR

SIDI

SIDI

As I understand:

MAG-1 (380USD)

+More flexible
+Newer boot
+Less protection on the outside - inside instead

VORTICE (380USD)

+More protection

Have anyone here had both and is it a big difference in air/non-air version. Better ventilation.

Thanks for all the feedback

I have both.

Mag 1 is 10 times easier to put on and nothing to get caught on the bike

Had the vortice caught on the heel guards a couple of times

Both good boots.

MAG 1 is much lighter

I wear the mag 1 now

I wear the Mag 1 boots and love them, they are very easy and quick to get on and off @ the track..Very light weight and also come with air vent at the tip of the toe area for cool feet..

One guy told me, he owns the MAG-1, that they are impossible to walk in, very uncomfortable. So I guess I have no other choice than to try them out live.

I know you didn't ask about them, but I am going to throw in a ringer...

I have the SIDI ST Air and they are nice and tough, however I found the Dainese Axial In boot at Champion Helmets for a great shipped price and decided to try them. They are incredibly comfortable, light, and come with all the protection.

Since they Velcro to the inside of my Dainese race suit and C2 pants, there is no need to stuff them inside the top of the boot.

The mag 1 is super comfortable to walk in. I reckon the guy who told you that probably bought ones that were too tight.

I had to go up one size from my Sidi Vortice. So be careful with sizing. Its a boot you must try on.

thanks bradp51! I thought the whole statement from that guy was just plain weird. I ´m now trying to find a store in Stockholm, Sweden that carries MAG-1. It seems that most shops does not have it. I reckon I should be a eu size 45 since I have that in other SIDI models.

Mag-1 all the way, I went through 6 pairs of Vertigo, Vertigo Corsa and Vortice, and ST boots before getting the Mag-1 last year. The Mag-1's are awesome, MORE comfortable to walk in (and they don't have the Sidi Squeak), way easier to get on and off, and a lot lighter. And as mentioned previously, they don't get caught on the heel guards like the Vortice can. My Mag-1's probably have the rest of this season in them, and then it will be time for a new pair next year, and I'll definitely be buying another of the same thing.

Just be careful. I had to pay a $15 restocking fee to the shop I bought them from as they got me the size that I wore in the Vortice but had to return those to go up one size in the Mag 1.

Definitely the Mag-1. The Sidi Vortice is the predecessor of the Mag-1, and the vortice is already phased out. This boot is no longer made, it's simply an older boot now. All the new innovations are in the Mag-1, so choose the Mag-1 if you want more bang for the buck.
