Went out on the bike yesterday and made a few stops throughout the day. After my last stop, bike wouldnt start (was hot). It sounded as thought the battery was getting weaker and weaker and then finally it just clicked. Power to everything though. Tried to bump start it, it started and then died. Put a new battery in today and still just a CLICK sound when I press the start button. I will be taking it to the dealer tomorrow but if anyone has any ideas would be nice. Of course this happens just as I sign up for my first track day...

Did you try bump starting with the new battery? With all the electronics, you need a strong battery to jump start.

I did try with no luck. I was going to put it on the charger with the new battery in. Again dash lights up and headlights are on just wont start. I mean the starter isn't even trying. Just "click". This is the first time I am going to be taking a bike to dealer for a repair ...ever.

From everything I'm reading online its the tell tail signs of a dead battery not a starter. Would be amazing if I could get this fix this week. ..

I remember reading of several with starter defective, but who knows, it could be insufficient current/voltage due to loose/ unreliable electrical connections. Mine cranks fine every time, like the normal starting ones I hear on the youtube videos, within three seconds max. I have a very recent made one. There is no reason a good tech would not be able to troubleshoot this out quickly. Rest assured, I am sure when you take it in and provided you have a bonafide technician, it will be fixed in no time.

My starter fasd a couple of weeks ago under similar circumsta CSS ad was replaced under warranty
