Warning: cue grumpiness:

I'm not excited because they were dicking people around durin the beta period and it's been so long that I honestly could not care less about it at this point. They had a 'beta release' party here locally and it was basically a bunch of high level douchery.

I still think it's interesting, but I'm not nearly invested in it as I was before.

You are right about the hype surrounding the beta testing. They gave the impression they wanted feedback from all walks of life but in the end it seemed to be a very limited demographic that actually got to see it and if beta testing by donning a helmet in the less than realistic environment of a hotel conference room, denotes a proper shakedown, then they are misguided.

yup. there was a slew of social media posts about it and its like...you were on a bike in a stand in a hotel room. no thanks.

Yeeeeeesh, that's hugely disappointing all around from a business standpoint.

I'm excited for the technology no doubt, but I hadn't realized it was such a controlled beta. I hadn't really put two-and-two together that I have yet to see a review about what it's like to /ride/ with one, only instead what it's like to wear and move around with one.

I guess we'll see!

After all skully's dicking around they can put the helmet up their uhm skully for all I care...

Just wait till they reveal the pricing. I thought I read somewhere that they are going to cost $1,500.00

Serious ?? They didn't let anyone ride with one on ? WTF is that.

NOLA

Based on the photos I saw from the people I know that went, yes, that was it for the beta/launch party nonsense.

I've quietly accepted in the back of my head that $1,500 is where it'd price. I really need to quench this early-adoption bug of mine because as it stands, marketing tomfoolery aside, I'm gonna be out fifteen-hundred come Monday.

I've got some blind faith in the fact that it being Android-based and releasing an SDK any launch bugs will be worked through in time, and if it sucks out of the box, it'll improve.

I jumped on one of the first 25 at 1299....I hate the idea of paying for something almost a year in advance but when it arrives next may ittl be nice not to have to pay for it then :)
