I signed up too.. had a friend with an "in" on them.. he said they have over 50k people signed up and they are picking about a 1000.. we shall see, he didn't state where or whom they are looking for

50,000! Wow that's amazing. Just means my chances are even slimmer than I thought unless the manufacturers are looking for feedback on a global level. Fingers are still crossed!

again I have NO idea how many will actually get picked but I know after my friend and I talked.. I saw a link EVERYWHERE to sign up for trials.. so I wouldn't be surprised if that number has climbed.. I have my crossed too could be neat

Just signed up to apply as a BETA tester for one of these. What do you think? Not sure I am in with a chance being it is a US based company, but fingers crossed!

Skully Helmets - Lets go for a ride - YouTube

My buddy did that video for them. That's him on his Harley, did all the editing and shooting too. It is a slick piece, super slow to produce a product though....
I signed up too, haha, but from what he was saying, since its a start up they are looking for beta testers with money and name recognition to get their name out there. Whether or not that's true remains to be seen. Hopefully one of us on here can get a hold of one and fill us all in.

If they are looking for money and recognition, I would have thought they would be better off talking to bike magazines for product testing, which would be a shame as they will get a much better un-biased feedback from potential consumers.

I wonder how much this helmet will cost once it's up for sale in the US.

i was excited about the skully helmet but the nuviz display seems cool as well.. ridenuviz.com

i think it's best to wait for both to hit the market and then see what people say..

I like the idea of the Skully helmet - I feel integrated hardware has an inherent edge on add-on components. I'd be terrified that the nuviz my fall off - but perhaps I'm paranoid because my GoPro jumped-ship from my gas tank last week and I watched it slide off the road, and down the mountain.

*sigh*.

I also don't want to have to buy a new helmet :p

At any rate, this tech is awesome. I'll buy it one way or another!

I also signed up to become a beta tester for this a couple of months ago. Will be interesting to see who they actually pick.

That helmet would .... me . I like putting on my helmet to get away from all of that .

Doesn't bother me. I like the ability to choose whether I want to be contactable or not whilst riding. I like the idea of the rear view camera, though I would still rely on my "lifesavers" to be sure. Not convinced the voice activation will be without it's own share of problems with ambient noise to deal with. Heck, Siri can't understand Jack S**t 99% of the time, (considering the millions Apple poured into it in R&D) and that's in a quiet environment!

I use a Sena SMH10 at present and it works extremely well. Even the bluetooth range is pretty good (around 3/4 mile) on the odd occasions when I'm out on a ride accompanied by my wife on her Monster, and we need to talk to each other. Over this sort of distance it's perfect, even when we both reach "somewhat higher speeds" ;). Music clarity and speakers are very good quality and the unit is very compact and easy to use. Be interesting to see how the Skully compares saying that.
