Hi everyone , any insight or tips on this weird issue of mine , I had an extremely small low side on the left side , after that the bike won’t down shift past 4th but it up shifts and down shift fine 4-6.i took apart my CnC rear set and re did it and still nothing . Any ideas ? Tips ?
Thanks!

Well if u are sure the rearset is fine and the shift linkage is not bend the problem is probably in your gearbox. I realy hope u overlooked something because otherwise u are in for some serious repairing.

Can u try completely remove the shift pedal and the linkage and try to move the shift axle and see if u can get it below 4th? If so your gearbox is fine.

One more thing. Is the bike standing stil when u are trying to shift? If yes maybe that's why it won't shift.

X2, make sure the rear wheel is at least spinning, with the motor running as you try to shift. Many bikes won’t shift when they are just sitting there.

I will try this

Yes its on stands, was alittle annoying to go through the gears 4 5 and 6 on the stand. My next attempt will be to also get it going in 4th on the road and trying to shift down once im cruising.

U don't need to ride the bike to check this. Just pull in the clutch, push the bike forwards and shift down a couple of times.

If you can shift from 4th to 5th and from 5th to 6th, and back, the problem probably isn't shift rod related. What gear were you in when you dropped the bike? Maybe fork damage or fork pin damage, possibly 2,3? Forks 2,3 and 1,4 both mount on the same shaft, and you can get 4th. If a great deal of force was exerted upon the gearbox as the gear shift lever contacted the ground, internal damage may have occurred.

Cant see it being internal damage, its very protected. You dont need the engine running either. On a stand just shift with one hand and rotate the wheel a bit with the other.

If further tests prove unsuccessful, before even considering splitting the engine case open to service the gearbox (which is obviously the absolute last, throw up the white flag, resort), pop the cover on the side of the gearbox and inspect the selector mechanism. It may turn out to be an easy fix.

Yes I can deff shift from 4th-6th and back down, which i thought was weird, but deff wasnt no great deal of force it was such a small low side, minimal damage just some scratches and my shifter end half shaved off but nothing else from the rear set damaged nor bent. I was deff not in 4th gear, i would be surprised if i was even in 3rd so that is a mystery on why im stuck in 4th.
