Seems to be a simple question... but this forum seems to be full of debate on it...

Does anybody have the real answer????

If you would read a couple posts, I talked to my service guy Saturday:

The new map is already at some dealers (mine) and available to load.

It takes advantage of the faster reving caused by the 41T, but will supposedly work fine with the 39T

My 14/39 is nearly identical to the 15/41

Since this is an optional change (unlike the heat shield), there is a cost:
Map: $30
Chain $121
Sprocket $??

You've got to be shitting me.

Anyone want to host an IRC? I might be able to swing it for us, these re-re-re-redundant threads are nuts.

And OT, if he's right he's got the only dealership that has it and he's the only person the service guy will admit to that he has it.

I will call to try to obtain it Tuesday when they are open.

You posted yout dealer had it, and you were taking it in, what happened?

The whole story was he had some new files, but didn't know what they were or even if they were for the Pani. He called around and they said it had not been pushed out and they haven't seen it yet, and that's when I contacted you then called your service dude. He told me they'd have it in probably a week.

The service guy told me that it wouldn't be released until April, so if it is next week that be great. It seems to me that it should be released to each dealer at the same time, no?

Will everyone stop telling people to SEARCH! THE SEARCH IS ...., and unless its a sticky, having to plough through 35 pages of questionable 'facts' that could quite possibly be out of date is mind bogglingly frustrating too. If you don't want to answer then don't answer but lets not berate people every time a question gets posted!

My letter from Ducati says there is a new map and dealers will have it by the end of March. My dealer said it maybe sometime in April IIRC.

Making excuses for being lazy. Google actually brings up the correct thread almost all the time. This forum has the most hits for 1199 on the Web. You won't convince me otherwise. It's forum etiquette. Good luck getting one of the 3 or so contributing members if you you want to complain about them trying to reduce redundancy.

Tell you what I won't mention it again if that's what you want.

Here is my Ducati letter if you don't believe me.

Clearly says "We have developed a new electronic engine map with also optimizes Quick Shift gear changes, and will be provided to you at zero cost."

Also says "The above improvements wil be made available to you by the end of March."

I don't understand the level of confusion over this matter:confused::confused:

The definitive answer to the requested information has been out for ages.

This should be a a f*****g sticky.

The name of the new "ECU Software is j01100020204.mot" for both CAL and CDN.

Mine was done mid to late November 2012 here in Australia for free:)
There is a letter to dealers dated February 7, 2013 that relates to the software which they call New Engine Control Unit Software (available imediately), Sprocket (available end of March) and the heat shield (available end of February).
In the letter, they refer to the updated software from (TSB-12-005) which is stated to have been available from 12/4/2012, and it is designed of both the 39 and 41 tooth sprockets.
I got it a bit earlier than that;)

Now to summarize, if you haven't got the update software, go and get it as it's all that's available at the moment.
If you are still in doubt about the siutability of the software for use with the 41 tooth sprocket?
According to DUCATI it is clear that it most certainly is, and it's all that's available.

Good Luck,
Brad

Seriously! Lazy! Get real, I've spent a ton of time searching, on this site and Google but currency is the issue. The obvious terms here are something like 'new map 1199'. The first 4 results are from Dec & November and the next most recent is this thread we are on. The 1199 site itself throws up 82 different posts. 'New map' doesnt even register a result, and neither does DDA which is a pretty specific term.

So given the pace of development, having seen that set of results I would post again given those results. Also everyone is going to search for different terms and every set of terms will throw up a different set of results, that is the nature of search, so you cant legislate for that.

I try and answer questions and give feedback when its requested as a productive member of this community where I believe I have some information that might be useful IMHO so please don't lecture me about etiquette. Good etiquette would be to have a active STICKY section instead of out of date reviews, a thread on white 1199 and other pretty useless information.

Hi Bronch,
The software update was released from DUCATI through the DDS in late November, but wasn't announced until early December.
So it was released at the same time:)

Brad

You're right but we have no mods to maintain the stickies and I assume duc has a life it's obvious he doesn't have time to be dicking with it.

Anyone know if the name / id# is the same in Europe ?

Hi Justfire,

It possibly isn't the same, because the letter i have refered to is from DNA to dealers in the USA.

However the ECU update refered to in the letter, (i would assume) is released on a world wide basis.
I got it early here in OZ, regardless of what its official designation is.
It is available through DDS 2.0 in your dealers service department.
It has been officially available since early December 2012.

I should imagine that there are places in the world that may not get the same version if they get it at all. Japan is one place and another country in europe come to mind where they have legislated restrictions on the machines' power.

Brad
