I have been reading through the interesting threads on here but one thing I haven't seen yet unless I missed it was the DDA use.

I know some units that use this GPS signal to create your start/finish line can get buggy when the weather is say cloudy or raining messing with the GPS signal, anyone have issues with the DDA system?

How well has the DDA system worked in providing data to better improve what either the rider or bike is doing around the track? Also for using the base model what is involved with adding the DDA system?

Not hard to fit. Except you have to take off the upper fairing. Think there is a thread on here somewhere about it. The connector is already in the wiring loom, you only have to replace the plastic shroud which houses the GPS sensor.

In my experience it's not that buggy. Takes some getting used to in terms of setup and lap comparisons etc.

I don't think it's buggy for setting start/finish, you can adjust it. Of course whenever I'm inconsistent I like to blame the GPS :)

I've been using GPS lap timers for several years now, and never had a problem with any kind of weather. On the Panigale base model, you need the DDA+ GPS kit, which comes with the GPS signal receiver, the DDA+ USB plug that goes under the seat, and the DDA software for downloading and analyzing your lap time data. I've used similar software in the past from Starlane and Nemesis, and the DDA software (from Prosa) is pretty much the same. I think the most valuable feature is taking different laps and comparing them to each other to see exactly where on the track you picked up time on one lap vs. the other. You can even do this for laps on different days, they don't have to be from the same data file. Here's a link to the kit:

Oh ok cool, when I had my triumph 675 the T3 race dash made for the bike had the same stuff but apparently the GPS signal got buggy whenever it was cloudy outside so wasn't sure if this system was better or the same.

I like the titanium rods on the 1199 R but man another 8k would eat up my budget for the rest of my plans lol.
