Hi,

I lost my little suspension bible, so not the best starting point for this exercise.

I've attached a cable-tie and noted the following so far:

- 20mm of front suspension travel used by me sitting on the bike (static)
- 20mm of front suspension travel remaining after a ride and some spirited braking

What next please :p

Sorry mate, all that suspension goodness resides in the head of my mechanic!

How is the bike performing ? What's it doing your not happy with ?

With standard Sport mode settings, the front end doesn't seem to provide me with much feedback, ultimatley making me lack confidence in grip levels.

I'm wondering if the suspension is operating in the correct travel range, hence me wanting to start by setting the bike up for my weight, rather than by twiddling :p

Other than that, the rear is a little hard, but on the positive side, no front/rear weight transfer, which I really dislike.

So, basically I'm just looking for more front end feel.

what is it exactly you re asking? are you setting springload to your weight?

Yes, that's what I'm trying to do, as a starting point.

I'm trying to improve front end feel, which I seem to be lacking.

what pressures are you running? 29f/27rear a good starting point.

Running closer to 30f/31r.

I *think* one of my issues maybe overloading the front during cornering, rather than riding through the bends a little harder.

Its not something that my riding environment helps, with lots of blind 1-2-3 gear hairpins, which are difficult to ride safely if you try to increase commitment levels.

Does that make any sense? If so, I'll just move :p

Xbox - verify your weight against the suspension OEM set up. I'm not sure if you changed the springs for your weight. + or - 10 lbs can make a huge difference when trying to get that "feel" on the Pani. More or thicker oil can also help get that feel if you are in the ball park of the springs. I'm not sure if this is true or not but I have read somewhere that the suspension setup for the Pani was like for a 160lbs rider(whether base or S model). But what i have found is the rear is stiff as hell and my front end was nose diving due to my weight and stiff rear end. Changed them all out and to my weight and was able to dial them in for my style of riding. The Ohlins on the S just need to be resprung to your weight or increase the Oil a little and I think you will get that feeling you are looking for. For those with the base get rid of the rear Sachs period but fronts are good but new cartridge would make it better.
