I am considering buying this exhaust for my streetfighter v2. The question regards the statement that spark says that you have to trim or remove the radiator fan shroud for this to fit. Can someone who has this exhaust installed confirm what exactly needs to be removed for this to fit. Looking at pictures it looks like the radiator fan assembly is made up of two pieces that - the fan shroud and the funnel part that feeds air to the fan. Thank you.

I have done it. I would not recommend installing yourself.

I chose to do it myself and that was a mistake. I was was quoted 5-6 hours to install at $1K to complete. In hind sight I should have just paid the $1000 and been done with it. The level of experience needed as well as no real instructions as to how to make this work make this a ...... The instructions on the Spark website are not detailed nor very helpful, a lot of trial and error. The process of removing the OEM exhaust was not a joy either. I came real close to just sawing the thing of with a cutting torch.
I am about finished just need to reassemble all the body pieces or covers and get it tuned. It's not impossible but on a scale of 1-10 this is a 8-9 level of difficulty. I had to buy numerous additional types of tools, sockets, long hex and torx. Modifying the fan shroud takes a few attempts and adjustments as well. I have no lift so I was working off the floor.

Welcome to Ducati service and maintenance. Where things take 5x longer to do than normal and you get more frustrated than satisfied.

I’ve been restoring a Toyota 4Runner over the last couple months and ....... that’s a joy to work on.

Better pictures and all set to be tuned.

The value of $1K to pay someone else for the task is a value that's to be determined by the one paying. If I knew that $1K would go to someone who would give every detail the level of attention I would give it, maybe worth it. But, my experience with dealer mechanics has left me wanting more. If you have to buy a lot of tools, that can make things more expensive, but I've never been too worried about buying tools. It's practically paying for capability.

Your install looks good. I'd consider removing the rear cylinder heat shield.

I agree with you as to doing it myself, There is no (heat shield) left or as a part of this Spark Exhaust.
