I was looking for something totally non-motorcycle related and ran across this. lol..

Washington man cited after high-speed test ride of new motorcycle in Central Oregon | OregonLive.com

A Washington man was cited for speeding after reportedly testing his brand new motorcycle near Lapine on Monday.

Gregory Zaser, 61, of Medina, Wash., was clocked at 130 mph on his Ducati motorcycle about 2:40 p.m. along U.S. 97 near milepost 177, Oregon State Police said.

Zaser told the trooper after he was pulled over that he just bought the motorcycle and was seeing what it could do, police said.

A few years from now, I could sooo be that person. 130 is a bit low, however!

I'd take the fine any day over what they would do here in VA (jail time, 6 month license suspension, PLUS fines, etc.).

Saw this on another forum. They were wondering why only 130. I figured Starbucks was still closed so no real hurry.

lol...

"130? You must have clocked me in 4th gear around that corner because I was near redline in 6th about 1/4 mile back."

I have never seen the full arc of tach warning lights in 4th gear on a deserted Florida public road ...

i wonder what would happen here in new york -- i don't even think cops pull bikes over for speeding. the other day i was test-driving a bentley continental gt speed, and was terrified each time i got up to 130-140mph. i do that on my bike on the same road damn near ever day without giving it much thought...

and of course, i realize how dangerous it is after i hit the brakes, but it doesn't seem that way when i'm on the gas...:D
