Super pole just finished, unbelievable times, and Checa on pole with an incredible 1:30.2 and no one gave it a chance. priceless

so, that for once and for all settles the 'the frame doesn't work' issue... now let's drop the alubeam .... and get going on the carbon frame again in GP! ..

in the mean time carlos can win the WSBK ..

well it won't be that easy but it sure says a lot on the the road Ducati took the pani..

and isn't this why we love it so much... every 12 years they take a white sheet of paper and set new standard...

Alstare got the bikes 3 weeks before the test. had only 2 weeks to fiddle on them before thay shipped out. had only 1 real testing session and then go and crush last years SP winners Kawasaki.. now that is a statement!

exactly

be we do know it's fast! hitting SP like that says it can win.. whether it will is something else completely! :)

"Fast" is a relative term particularly when compared to the other bikes. The pani had a considerably lower top speed than Aprilia, Kawi or BMW. All three were consistently above 300 km/h, while Checa I believe just clipped 300 on his pole lap. I would say it's "Quick" :D

Air restrictors are already fitted to the Pani.

Badovini has a swollen ankle and won't race, that time wasset when he decided not to continue this weekend.

Remember, Checa did not participate in the testing last week, as he had an intestine problem so this was only his second day, makes it more impressive.

I must say though the Aprilia's are looking the bikes to beat.

Interesting his top speed is a fair amount slower than others. Is that b/c he's getting it done in the turns & giving up a bit on the long straights?

He's gettin' it done wherever he can. With the 50mm restrictors left on it they can't get the revs and top end the short stroke motor is designed for. Heck, I think the stocker has what, 62mm throttle bodies on it? When they started the 1199 project they weren't so constained, but it's not like they're going to go away anytime soon with him going that quickly, even if he is down over 10Kph to the faster 4's on the straights and no lighter than them.

Checa on the way to the hospital on the mainland. No start for him in race 2. Hope he is alright!
Too bad he lost the start with the wheelie.

Neukirchner 10.

He was looking good, but over cooked into Honda corner and clipped Mealandri. He hit is head hard, was unconscious and I will not compete in race 2 he is on his way to Melbourne hospital.

He was greeting mugged down the straight, they need another 15km/h at such facts tracks, but it early days.

Badovini has a cracked heel, so no factory Ducati's to race in the afternoon.

Neukircherner on the privatee bike was a solid 10th

So not a good start to the season.

thx, I got reassuring news on Checa as well...from Italy.:)

I think the bike is fast, but it needs to be fast across the whole race. After a while Checa began to loose speed. Probably he had to push hard in corners to make up for lack of power and the tires died too early

Am told Comcast ch 638 shows it also, can't confirm as I don't have Comcast but buddy told me he is watching it.
