Hi guys. I have a base 2020 v4

On the ride home from the dealership, the engine cut out twice within a few minutes

It didn't happen again for a long while, but does from time to time

It seems to only happen when I'm slowing down. Seems to mostly happen when in 3rd or 4th gear and pulling the clutch. There aren't really any other consistent conditions such as just fueled, ambient or engine temperature

It's never happened when doing clutchless downshifts

Anyone else having this happen? It's really intermittent to the point that I forget about it then it happens again out of the blue

It does always restart with no problem

I had an 899 in which I removed the charcoal evap canister due to well known 'hot start' issues which solved that issue

Anyone else having similar issues? If so, any success in fixing by removing the evap canister?

I run only 93 octane non ethanol petrol

I had the exact same issue happen twice on my 2020 base. Both in the first 100 miles. Never happened again after that. Currently at 850 miles with 1 track day.

Thanks for the feedback. I forgot to mention before, I've got about 2900 miles on mine. It didnt happen for a good while after my 1000km service. So keep an eye out. Its happened probably 15 times in total. I'll probably get rid of the canister and report back

3 times in 600 miles for me, always on pulling the clutch to slow down for junctions. Not done it since first service... my bike is V4S, Akra, up-map

So I tried to take a ride today. I wasn't sure if it was going to rain but I really wanted to escape my level 99 estrogen fueled covid jail. It was super humid because it was about to rain. Pretty hot. Mid 90s Fahrenheit. I warmed the bike up at idle for 3 or 4 minutes then took off. I turned a corner to see dark clouds and rain starting so I decided to abort and make the block and head home. I had the decelerating stall happen every time I was slowing down. It happened 6 or 7 times in a 5 minute ride. Way more than ever before. Hmm....might be humidity related?

Been told more than once that if the quickshifter is switched to up and down, when pulling the clutch in for a downchange, the electronics can get its panties in a twist and cut the engine. Mines cut out numerous times, always changing down, once when coming onto a roundabout about 45mph "going for a gap" That could have gone very wrong, but kept the clutch in and coasted with the bike cranked over and managed to hit the start button. Was a close one!!
Have set the quickshifter to just 'up' hasn't happened since, as yet!

Be interested if anyone else has done this for the same reason, or am I still likely to experience an engine cut again?

I got a HM OEM replacement quickshifter waiting to be fitted to my 1299 that was having the same quickshifter issues. If this piece resolves the problem on that bike, I’ll definitely be ordering one for my V4, but first we’ll see If dealership service center can fix. Not exactly an “upgrade” I would expect to have to complete on a brand new vehicle but it is a Ducati, so

good to know. thanks! i'll be damned if i do that workaround. i love that blipper ;) could be a key find though. i relay to my service guys that are checking into it.

I have a 2020 V4 base. It stalled twice leaving the dealership after my 1st service. Did it 2-3 more times within 100 or so miles of the initial stall, but hasn't happened since. I have approx. 2,100 miles.

Not sure if its related......ever since installing an Oberon clutch slave, haven't had one shut down. I used to have to bleed my clutch every few rides, not anymore! And the stalls haven't happened since....hmmm.
