They've jumped through the roof in price when Tron Legacy was released in theatres back in 2010. And have been steadily increasing in value since then. Even though the first link you posted is more of a custom build, I'd imagine that in person it is stunning.

By the way, Paul Smarts have usually been several thousand more than the standard Sport Classics. I can only imagine what they'll be valued in 10 years time...

There are 2 1299 SL's for sale here in Au one in Qld $147,500 one in NSW $149,000 nearly a 50% increase from original purchase price in under 2 years not a bad climb.

I love Sport Classic concept but stock as a riding platform they are pretty ordinary. You have to do brakes, suspension and wheels and then you are left with a lump.

I love the 2V motor, I had a Hypermotard I converted with clippons and rear sets and 999 tank that I loved but went the way of the 1098 for brute strength. There is a Paul Smart that appears at out local track that carves around me all the time and it's sound the business but it aint stock.

Sold mine for almost 30% more than my acquired new price, 2006 Sport Classic with the sick Termi exhaust. Funded a good portion of my HP4.

As noted in this thread, "fun" to ride but push it at all and the bike wouldn't respond well. The Paul Smart edition would've fixed most of the issues with the Ohlins.

The only mechanical item I sold for more than purchase price.
